Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui (1) apakah peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran konsep himpunan berbasis android melalui model Discovery Learning lebih tinggi dari siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran biasa; (2) respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran menggunakan media pembelajaran himpunan berbasis android melalui model Discovery Learning. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitiannya adalah non equivalent control prettest postest only design, sedangkan untuk pengembangan media digunakan metode Design Research. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII di salah satu SMP Negeri di Kota Bandung, tahun ajaran 2017/2018, selanjutnya diambil dua kelas sebagai sampel dari sejumlah kelas VII dengan teknik purposive sampling. Satu kelas sebagai kelas eksperimen yang mengikuti pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran konsep himpunan berbasis android melalui model Discovery Learning dan satu kelas lainnya sebagai kelas kontrol yang mengikuti pembelajaran biasa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa: (1) Peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran menggunakan media pembelajaran berbasis android melalui model Discovery Learning lebih tinggi dari pada siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran biasa; (2) Siswa memberikan respon yang postitif terhadap pembelajaran matematika menggunakan media pembelajaran konsep himpunan melalui model Discovery Learning baik dari aspek minat belajar, kesungguhan siswa, maupun manfaat yang dirasakan oleh siswa;--- The purpose of this study is to determine (1) whether the improvement of mathematical communication ability of students who get learning by using android based learning media of the sets concept through model of Discovery Learning is higher than students who get regular learning (2) student's response to learning using android based learning media through Discovery Learning model. The method used in this research is quasi experiments with the research design is nonequivalent control pretest postest only design, while for media development used Design Research method. The population in this study is the seventh-grade students in one of the Junior High School in Bandung, academic year 2017/2018, then taken two classes as a sample of a number of class VII with purposive sampling technique. One class as an experimental class that follows the learning of mathematics by using the learning media of the concept of android based set through the model of Discovery Learning and one other class as the control class that follow the usual learning. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that: (1) The improvement of mathematical communication ability of students who get learning using android based learning media through Discovery Learning model is higher than the students who get regular learning; (2) Students give a positive response to the learning of mathematics using learning media of the sets concept through Discovery Learning model either from the aspect of learning interest, student's sincerity, and the benefit felt by the students
