Abstract

The research was conducted at SMK Negeri 1 Bandung. It aims is to determine whether there is influence of teacher competence on eleventh grade students’ learning motivation in entrepreneurship subject at SMK Negeri 1 Bandung. The problem under research is students’ low learning motivation. This is indicated by how a teacher creates a learning atmosphere, how students think creatively and critically, how students can improve their learning motivation and gain knowledge transferred by the teacher, but there are still many problems in the process of teaching and learning, one of which is the teacher cannot optimally make the classroom atmosphere more lively, which is one of the indicators of teacher competence. This research consists of two variables, namely teacher competence (X) and student learning motivation (Y). The research employed descriptive and verification method; hence, it is included under the category of explanatory survey research. The population consisted of 105 students of SMK Negeri 1 Bandung, with a number of 51 students as the sample. Data were analyzed with the simple regression analysis technique. Based on the findings, it is found that the teachers’ competence was at the category of good and students’ learning motivation at the high category. The hypothesis test shows that teacher competence had significant influence on students’ learning motivation at SMK Negeri 1 Bandung.----- Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMK Negeri 1 Bandung. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya pengaruh kompetensi guru terhadap motivasi belajar siswa kelas XI pada mata pelajaran kewirausahaan di SMK Negeri 1 Bandung. Permasalahan yang menjadi kajian dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya motivasi belajar siswa. Hal ini ditandai dengan bagaimana guru menciptakan suasana belajar, siswa berfikir secara kreatif dan kritis, bagaimana siswa dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajarnya, memberikan ilmu pengetahuan yang dapat memperoleh ilmu siswa, akan tetapi saat ini masih banyak permasalahan dalam proses belajar mengajar salah satunya adalah seorang guru yang kurang dalam membuat suasana kelas menjadi lebih hidup, salah satunya terlihat dari kompetensi guru tersebut. Penelitian ini terdiri dari dua variabel yaitu kompetensi guru (X) dan motivasi belajar siswa (Y). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dan verifikatif. Jenis penelitian ini adalah jenis penelitian survey explanatory. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 105 siswa di SMK Negeri 1 Bandung. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 51 siswa di SMK Negeri 1 Bandung. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis regresi sederhana. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh informasi bahwa kompetensi guru berada pada kategori baik dan motivasi belajar siswa berada pada kategori tinggi. Uji hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi guru berpengaruh signifikan terhadap motivasi belajar siswa di SMK Negeri 1 Bandung.
