Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan workbook berorientasi keterampilan proses sains dan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa dengan menggunakan multimodus representasi pada materi fluida satatis yang diterapkan pada pembelajaran fisika di kelas XI Sekolah Menengah Atas. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode Research and Development (R & D) dengan metode pengembangan Representational Approach Learning to Write. Pada penelitian ini, aspek keterampilan proses sains yang digunakan mengacu pada Rustaman dan aspek keterampilan berpikir kritis yang digunakan mengacu pada Ennis. Desain penelitian yag digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah pre-test-post-test-control-group dengan sampel berjumlah 30 orang siswa kelas XI. Instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini diantaranya adalah uji kualitas workbook, uji keterpahaman ide pokok, tes keterampilan proses sains, tes keterampilan berpikir kritis, dan angket persepsi siswa. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan menganalisis hasil uji kualitas dan uji keterpahaman ide pokok secara deskriptif. Sedangkan untuk tes keterampilan proses sains dan keterampilan berpikir kritis digunakan teknik analisis dengan menghitung N-Gain, Uji Statistik, dan Uji Ukuran Dampak (Effect Size). Hasil dari uji kualitas dan uji keterpahaman ide pokok yang telah dianalisis secara deskriptif, diperoleh bahwa workbook yang dikembangkan memiliki kategori layak. Berdasarkan hasil uji coba lapangan pada kelas eksperimen, workbook yang dikembangkan dapat meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains sebesar 0,5 dengan kategori sedang dan keterampilan berpikir kritis sebesar 0,4 dengan kategori sedang. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan uji statistik dan uji ukuran dampak (effect size), diperoleh bahwa workbook yang dikembangkan secara signifikan meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains dan keterampilan berpikir kritis dengan ukuran dampak besar (large effect). Hal ini juga didukung dengan hasil angket siswa, dimana siswa memberikan respon positif terhadap penggunaan workbook yang dikembangkan dalam pembelajaran di kelas. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah diperoleh, workbook yang dikembangkan dengan menggunakan multimodus representasi efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains dan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa.;--- This study aimed to develop workbook-oriented science process skills and critical thinking skills by using multimodal representation on satatic fluid material which applied on physics learning in grade XI of senior high school. The research method used was Research and Development (R & D) method and with developing method by using the Representational Approach Learning to Write. In this study, the aspects of the science process skills used refers to Rustaman and the critical thinking skills used refers to Ennis. The research design used in this study was pretest-post-test-control-group with a sample of 30 students in class XI .The instruments used in this research were Quality Test of Workbook, Main Idea Comprehension Test, Science Process Skill Test, Critical Thinking Skill Test, and Student Perception Questionnaire. The technique of data analysis have done by analyzing Quality Test of Workbook and Main Idea Comprehension Test descriptively. Meanwhile, Science Process Skill Test and Critical Thinking Skill Test used technique of analysis by calculating N-Gain, Statistic Test, and Effect Size Test. The result of Quality Test of Workbook and Main Idea Comprehension Test which have been analyzed descriptively, obtained that developed workbook have feasible category. Based on the results of field trials in the experimental class, the developed workbook can improve the skills of the science process by 0.5 in the medium category and critical thinking skills by 0.4 in the medium category. Based on the calculation of Statistical Test and Effect Size Test, it was found that the workbook developed was significantly improves the science process skills and critical thinking skills with large effect. It was also supported by student questionnaire results, where students had given respond positively to the used of workbook developed in classroom learning. Based on the research results obtained, workbook developed using multimodal representation were effective in improving the science process skills and critical thinking skills of students.
