Abstract

Penelitian ini berkaitan dengan permasalahan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas III SD Negeri I yang rendah dibuktikan dengan hasil belajar siswa masih rendah dibawah KKM yakni 70. Untuk itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas III SD Negeri I dengan menerapkan Metode SQ3R (Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review). Penelitian ini merupakan penilitian tindakan kelas yang diambil dengan desain oleh Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart yang dilaksanakan melalui dua siklus. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrumen tes evaluasi dan lembar observasi. Subjek penelitian ini melibatkan 37 siswa kelas III. Hasil penilitian dengan menerapkan Metode SQ3R mampu meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa pada siswa kelas III SD Negeri I. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari nilai rata-rata hasil tes membaca pemahaman siswa pada siklus I yaitu 71,2 dengan jumlah ketuntasan belajarnya 49%. Pada siklus II nilai rata-rata tes membaca pemahaman siswa mengalami kenaikan yakni 82,6 dengan jumlah ketuntasan ketuntasan belajar 86%.;---This research is related to the problem of reading comprehension ability of third grade students of SD Negeri I that is proven with low student learning result under KKM that is 70. Research is aimed to know the improvement of reading comprehension ability of third grade students of SD Negeri I by applying SQ3R Method (Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review). This is a classrom action research design by Kemmis and Mc. Taggart which is implemented through two cycles. Data collection was performed using evaluation test instruments and observation sheets. The subjects of this study involved 37 students of class III. The results of research by applying SQ3R method can improve students 'reading comprehension in third grade students of SD Negeri I. This can be seen from the average score of reading test result of the students' understanding in the first cycle is 71.2 with 49% learning mastery. In the second cycle, the average score of reading comprehension test of students has an increase of 82.6 with the total mastery to 86% learning mastery.
