Abstract

Secara umum penelitian yang berjudul Pelatihan Perkusi Melalui Metode Rhythm Syllables Pada Ekstrakurikuler Marching Band Di SMKN 6 Bandung ini membahas tentang proses pelatihan perkusi pada ekstrakurikuler marching band di SMKN 6 Bandung dengan menggunakan salah satu metode pembelajaran musik yaitu metode rhythm syllable untuk mempelajari basic membaca notasi balok dan aplikasi praktis pada instrumennya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan materi serta variasi dari metode rhythm syllable yang digunakan, tahap pelatihannya, serta hasil dari pelatihan yang dilakukan tersebut. Adapun penelitian ini dilakukan dengan berdasarkan kepada kondisi pembelajaran musik baik disekolah formal maupun non formal dimana guru atau pendidik masih sedikit sekali yang mengenal metode rhythm syllable padahal aplikasinya pada proses pembelajaran musik terbukti cukup efektif dan metode tersebut telah banyak digunakan di berbagai negara. Dengan adanya penelitian ini diharapkan dapat lebih mengenalkan sedikit banyaknya tantang metode rhythm syllable dan aplikasinya dalam pembelajaran musik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif melalui pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan melalui kegiatan observasi, wawancara, studi dokumentasi, dan studi literatur. Adapun temuan yang didapatkan dari hasil penelitian ini diantaranya adalah (1) materi yang digunakan dalam proses pelatihan yang terdiri dari materi pengenalan notasi balok, variasi rhythm syllable yang diterapkan oleh Persatuan Drum Band Indonesia (PDBI), partitur LTRH (Learn To Read and Hit), dan partitur pemanasan untuk section perkusi. (2) tahap pelatihannya meliputi pengenalan notasi balok, pengenalan notasi melalui metode rhythm syllable, latihan membaca notasi, dan praktik permainan alat. (3) hasil dari pelatihan tersebut secara keseluruhan anggota dapat menguasai materi yang disampaikan sesuai dengan target waktu yang telah ditentukan. ---------- In general, the research by tittle Percussion Training Make Use Of Rhythm Syllables Method On Extracurricular Marching Band In SMKN 6 Bandung is discussing about the process of percussion training on extracurricular marching band in SMKN 6 Bandung by using one method of learning music that is rhythm syllable method to learn basic reading notation and practical applications on the instrument. This study aims to describe the material and variations of the rhythm syllable method used, the training phase, and the results of the training. The study was conducted based on the condition of music learning both in formal and non formal schools where teachers or educators are still very few who know the method of rhythm syllable even though the application of music learning process proved quite effective and the method has been used in various countries. With this research is expected to introduce more about rhythm syllable method and its application in music learning. The research method used in this research is descriptive method with qualitative approach and data collection technique doing by observation, interview, documentation, and literature study. The findings obtained from the results of this study include (1) the material used in the training process consist of introduction of the notation, the rhythm syllable variations applied by the Indonesian Drum Band Association (PDBI), the LTRH (Learn To Read and Hit) , and the warm up for the percussion section. (2) the training phase includes the introduction of the notation, the introduction of notation with rhythm syllable method, reading practice notation, and practice on the instrument. (3) the results of the training as a whole members can understand the material in accordance with the target time that has been determined.
