Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian kualitatif mengenai penerapan model PBL menggunakan teknik probing questions untuk meningkatkan keterampilan bertanya siswa kelas II SD. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan perkembangan dan peningkatan pembelajaran dengan menerapkan model PBL menggunakan teknik probing questions. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan bertanya siswa sebesar 42% siswa belum mampu mengajukan pertanyaan. Metode yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan di salah satu SD Kota Bandung dengan subjek penelitian berjumlah 26 orang siswa kelas II yang terdiri dari 12 orang laki-laki dan 14 orang perempuan semester genap tahun ajaran 2016/2017. PTK ini dilakukan dengan menerapkan model PBL menggunakan teknik probing questions yang terdiri dari langkah pembelajaran seperti: (1) orientasi kepada masalah/ redirect, (2) eksplorasi masalah/ redirect, (3) inventarisasi pengetahuan/ clarify, (4) mengembangkan dan menyajikan hasil karya/ summarize dan extend, dan (5) menganalisa, mengembangkan dan mengevaluasi proses pemecahan masalah/ reflect. Adapun indikator keterampilan bertanya yang diukur dalam penelitian ini meliputi: (1) mampu mengajukan pertanyaan selama proses pembelajaran, (2) mampu membuat pertanyaan dengan menyusun kata atau kalimat secara tepat, (3) mampu membuat pertanyaan yang bersifat eksploratif atau menggali, (4) Kesesuaian pertanyaan siswa terhadap materi pembelajaran, dan (5) Efektifitas jawaban. Berdasarkan penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa terdapat peningkatan keterampilan bertanya pada prapenelitian semula sebesar 58% menjadi 77% pada siklus I, dan meningkat kembali sebesar 33% setelah siklus II menjadi 100%. Berdasarkan data hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model PBL menggunakan teknik probing questions dapat meningkatkan keterampilan bertanya siswa yang dibuktikan dengan peningkatan hasil belajar.;---This research is a type of qualitative research about of PBL model and probing questions techniques to improve the asking skills students in the second grade of Elementary School. This research’s purpose is describing the development and improvement of learning by applying the PBL model using probing questions techniques. This research was based on the low of asking skills students from 42% of students have not been able to ask questions. The method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The location this research in one of elementary school in Bandung with the subject is 26 students of 12 men and 14 female students in the second semester of 2016/2017 . This research which consists of learning steps such as: (1) problem orientation/redirect, (2) problem exploration/redirect, (3) inventory of knowledge/clarify, (4) presentation/summarize and extend, and (5) analyze, and evaluate /reflect process. As for the asking skills indicators that measured in this research include: (1) to ask questions during the learning process, (2) to make questions by preparing words EYD, (3) to make the explorative, (4) Conformity of student questions to learning materials, and (5) Effectiveness of answers. Based this research found tthere is development of learning process on the pre-research percentage of 58% in the cycle I to 77%, then on the cycle II increased by 33% with 100%. Based on these data, it can be concluded that the application of PBL model using probing questions techniques can improve the asking skills students that evidenced by the improvement of learning outcomes.
