Abstract

Kemampuan komunikasi dan disposisi matematika siswa dapat ditumbuhkan melalui keterlibatan aktif antara guru dan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran dikelas, salah satunya melalui model pembelajaran CORE (Conecting, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana kemampuan komunikasi dan disposisi matematis siswa SMP melalui model pembelajaran CORE. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan desain pretes-postes, melalui purposive sampling diambil dua kelas sebagai sampel yaitu kelas VIIA dan VIIB di salahsatu SMP Negeri di Lampung. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis, skala disposisi matematis, dan lembar observasi. Data penelitian ini diperoleh dengan metode tes dan nontes (skala disposisi). Analisis data melibatkan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji perbedaan rata-rata dan uji interaksi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa (1) terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis antara siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran CORE dengan siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran konvensional; (2) terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran CORE dengan siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran konvensional ditinjau dari kemampuan awal matematis siswa (tinggi, sedang, dan rendah). Perbedaan yang signifikan berada pada indikator 1 dan 2 yaitu membuat diagram, grafik, tabel, atau gambar dari ide, situasi, dan relasi matematka yang disajikan (drawing); mengubah benda nyata, diagram, grafik,tabel, atau gambar ke dalam ide, situasi, dan relasi matematika. (3) terdapat perbedaan disposisi matematis antara siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran CORE dengan siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran konvensional.;---CORE (Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending) learning model is one of approaches to grow students’ mathematical disposition ability with the active involvement of teachers and students in classroom learning. At the extending stage, this learning uses mathematichal puzzles to make students more enthusiastic. This study aims to determine communication and mathematical disposition abilities of students through CORE learning model. It is a quasi experimental research with pre test and post test designs. The samples were two classes of grade VII ( VIIA as experiment calss and VIIB as control class) students in one of public secondary schools in Lampung taken by purposive sampling technique. The used instruments are mathematical communication test, mathematical disposition scale, and observation sheet. The data was obtained by test (question description) and non test methods (disposition scale). The data analysis involved normality test, homogeneity test, mean difference test ; Mann Whitney and t-test. The results showed: (1) there is difference improvement of mathematical communication ability of students who have been given CORE and students with conventional learning;(2) there is difference improvement of mathematical communication ability of students who have been given CORE and students with conventional learning look from KAM ( high, middle, low); (3) there is difference mathematical disposition ability of students who have been given CORE and students with conventional learning.
