Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat efektifitas dari metode diskusi tipe buzz group terhadap sikap tanggung jawab siswa dalam pembelajaran IPS. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada kelas VII-C sebagai kelas eksperimen yang diberikan treatmen metode diskusi buzz group dan kelas VII-A sebagai kelas kontrol atau pembanding. Fokus penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji apakah ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara “sebelum” dan “sesudah” menggunakan metode diskusi buzz group pada kelas eksperimen yang dianalisis dengan uji-t. Diperoleh nilai rata-rata “sebelum” lebih rendah dibandingkan “sesudah” melaksanakan treatment pada kelas eksperimen. Nilai rata-rata yang diperoleh “sesudah” treatment menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat efektifitas dari metode diskusi tipe buzz group terhadap sikap tanggung jawab siswa dalam pembelajaran IPS pada kelas VII-C. ;--- This present study was aimed at examining the effectiveness of buzz group discussion method towards students’ learning responsibility. The research was carried out at 7C class as the experimental group which was given buzz group method, and 7A class as the controlled group. The study put an emphasis on inquiring if there was a significant difference between “pre” and “post” learning results of experimental class after the treatment was given. The data were analyzed by using t-test. The study revealed that the average score gained by the experimental group before given the treatment was lower than the average score achieved after buzz group method was implemented. Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of buzz group discussion method in learning social science subject was effective to enhance students’ learning responsibility.
