Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurang tertariknya siswa dalam pembelajaran menulis narasi yang berdampak pada kompetensi menulis siswa. Padahal menulis merupakan sebuah keterampilan berbahasa yang seharusnya dikuasai oleh siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan siswa dalam menulis narasi sebelum dan sesudah penggunaan model CIRC (Cooperative Integrated Reading And Composition). Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah eksperimen kuasi dengan desain non-equivalent control group design. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV SD Ta’mirul Islam Surakarta. Kelas eksperimen diberikan perlakuan dengan model CIRC. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan awal siswa dalam menulis narasi di kelas eksperimen maupun kontrol hampir sama, tetapi setelah diberikan perlakuan terlihat peningkatan nilai rata-rata posttest pada kedua kelompok. Akan tetapi, peningkatan hasil belajar kelas eksperimen lebih baik daripada kelas kontrol. Peningkatan kemampuan menulis narasi pada kelompok eksperimen terlihat dari nilai rata-rata pretest 70,74 menjadi 84,39 pada saat posttest dan di kelas kontrol terjadi peningkatan dari nilai rata-rata pretest 71,13 menjadi 75,30. Hasil uji prasyarat analisis dan dilanjutkan dengan uji t menunjukkan nilai Sig. sebesar 0,000, angka tersebut lebih kecil dari taraf signifikansi yang ditentukan yakni α = 0,05. Dengan demikian H0 ditolak. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan siswa kelas IV SD Ta’mirul Islam Surakarta dalam menulis narasi di kelas yang menggunakan model pembelajaran CIRC lebih baik daripada di kelas yang tidak menggunakan model pembelajaran CIRC. Jadi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model CIRC dapat digunakan untuk pembelajaran menulis narasi di sekolah dasar.;---This research is motivated by the lack of interest of students in learn to write narrative that have an impact on students writing competence. Whereas writing is a language skill that should be mastered by students. The purpose of this research is to knowledge any significant difference between students skills in writing narrative before and after the use of CIRC model (Cooperative Integrated Reading And Composition). The methode that used in this study is a quasi experimental design with non-equivalent control group design. Subjects in this study were students in fourth grade of Elementary Ta'mirul Islam Surakarta School. Grades is given by experimental treatment with CIRC model. The result showed that the students ability in writing narrative at the beginning of experimental and control classes are almost, but after being given the treatment seems have an increase of the average value of posttest in both of group. However, learning outcome in the experimental classes is better than the control classes. Enhancement of ability to write, the narrative of the experimental group can be seen from the average value of 70.74 into 84.39 posttest at the time and the control group there is an increased of the average value of pretest 71.13 into 75.30. The result of the analysis prerequisite test and continued with T-test showed the amount of Sig. 0,000, the nominal is smaller than the specified significance level α = 0.05, so the H0 is rejected. This is indicate that the fourth grade of Ta'mirul Islam Surakarta students ability in narrative writing classes using CIRC model better than the classes that do not use the CIRC learning model. Thus, it can be concluded that the CIRC model can be used for teaching narrative writing in elementaryschool.
