Abstract
Penelitian ini berdasarkan dari masalah pemahaman siswa pada mata pelajaran Mekanika Teknik dan Elemen Mesin yang kurang memadai. Sebanyak 32,81% siswa yang mempelajari mata pelajaran Mekanika Teknik dan Elemen Mesin, hasil belajarnya masih belum mencapai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM), salah satu penyebabnya dikarenakan pembelajaran di kelas yang kurang dikemas dengan model pembelajaran yang menarik, menantang dan menyenangkan karena model pembelajaran yang selama ini digunakan selalu berpusat pada guru. Sebagai upaya meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa maka perlu dilakukan inovasi dalam model pembelajaran dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Numbered Heads Together. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mendapatkan gambaran dan perbedaan peningkatan hasil belajar siswa antara yang menerapkan model pembelajaran langsung dengan yang menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Numbered Heads Together pada mata pelajaran Mekanika Teknik dan Elemen Mesin. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen semu (quasi experiment) dengan desain penelitian yang digunakan yaitu nonequivalent control group design. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Siswa kelas X Teknik Mesin di SMK Negeri 2 Bandung dengan kelas X TM 2 sebagai kelas kontrol dan kelas X TM 3 sebagai kelas eksperimen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan peningkatan hasil belajar siswa yang lebih baik pada kelas yang menerapkan model pembelajaran Numbered Heads Together (kelas eksperimen) dengan nilai rata-rata N-Gain sebesar 0,80 yang termasuk pada kategori tinggi, sedangkan kelas yang menerapkan model pembelajaran langsung (kelas kontrol) nilai rata-rata N-Gain mencapai 0,73 yang termasuk pada kategori tinggi.;---This research based on student’s comprehension problem at Engineering Mechanics and Machine Elements course that less sufficient. The total 32,81% of students that have studied Engineering Mechanics and Machine Elements course showed the learning outcomes that has not yet met the minimum requirement, one of the problem is because of the learning process in the class is not delivered with an interesting, challenging and pleasing learning model because learning model that is always used before is the teacher centered model. In order to improve the students’ learning outcomes, an innovation in learning model by implementing Numbered Heads Together cooperative learning model is required. The aim of this research is to discover the description and the difference between the students’ learning outcomes that has been applied the direct instruction learning model and that has been applied the Numbered Heads Together cooperative learning model at Engineering Mechanics and Machine Elements course. The research method that is used is quasi experiment method with non-equivalent control group design. The sample that had been used in this research was students of class X Mechanical Engineering in SMK Negeri 2 Bandung, which were X TM 2 as controlled class and class X TM 3 as experiment class. The research output showed there was an improvement of learning outcomes in the class that has used Numbered Heads Together learning model (experiment class) with the average point of N-gain 0,80 which is included in the high category, whereas the class that has used direct instruction learning model (controlled class) showed average point of N-gain 0,73 which is included in the high category.
