Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk memperoleh informasi pengaruh model pembelajaran Predict, Observe, and Explain (POE) pada materi sistem pencernaan terhadap penguasaan konsep dan sikap ilmiah siswa SMP kelas VIII. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Quasi Eksperiment research dengan desain penelitian Nonequivalent Control Group Design Pretest-Posttest. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 30 orang siswa kelas eksperimen dan 30 orang kelas kontrol di salah satu SMP di Lembang. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes penguasaan konsep, skala sikap ilmiah siswa, lembar kerja siswa, dan lembar observasi keterlaksanaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai sig Mann-Whitney untuk penguasaan konsep sebesar 0,002 < 0,05 maka Ho ditolak dan H1 diterima. Hasil ini diperoleh dari data tes akhir kelas eksperimen sebesar 74 dan kelas kontrol sebesar 65,33. Hasil uji skala sikap akhir siswa menunjukkan nilai sig Mann-Whitney sebesar 0,00 < 0,05 maka Ho ditolak dan H1 diterima. Hasil ini diperoleh dari data tes akhir kelas eksperimen sebesar 75,20 dan kelas kontrol sebesar 68,37. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulakn bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelas kontrol dengan penerapan praktikum dengan kelas eksperimen penerapan model pembelajaran POE pada materi sistem pencernaan untuk meningkatkan penguasaan konsep dan sikap ilmiah siswa.;---The purpose of this research is to obtain information about influence of Predict, Observe, and Explain (POE) learning model in digestion system lesson for concept comprehension and scientific attitude of second grade junior high school students. This research uses Quasi Experiment Research method with Non-Equivalent Control Group Design Pretest-Posttest research design. Sample of this research consist of 30 students of experiment class and 30 students of control class in a junior high school in Lembang. Instruments which are used for this research are concept comprehension test, students scientific attitude scale, students worksheet, implementation observation sheet, performance observation sheet, students’s responses questionnaire, and teachers interview questionnaire. Result of the research shows sig Mann-Whitney value for concept comprehension is 0,002 < 0,05 so Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted. This result is taken from final test of experiment class for 74 and control class for 65,33. Result of final students attitude scale test shows value of sig Mann-Whitney for 0,00 < 0,05 so Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted. This result is taken from final test of experiment class for 75,20 and control class for 68,37. Regarding to this research result, it can be concluded that there are significant differences of POE learning model application in digestion system lesson to increase concept comprehension and students science attitude.
