Abstract
Penelitian ini berawal dari permasalahan seringnya siswa menggunakan bahasa asing saat mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia berlangsung di Sekolah Bina Persada, Cimahi. Siswa-siswa ini pun mengalami kesulitan saat menjalani proses kegiatan belajar dalam bahasa Indonesia, apalagi dalam pembelajaran berpidato. Siswa kesulitan mengungkapkan ide-ide yang dimilikinya karena kurangnya penguasaan bahasa Indonesia. Penggunaan bahasa Indonesia di Sekolah Bina Persada hanya diperkenankan ketika mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia berlangsung. Mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia hanya berlangsung selama 180 menit per minggu. Itu berarti, siswa di Sekolah Bina Persada hanya menggunakan bahasa Indonesia kurang lebih 180 menit per minggu di sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan: (1) profil pembelajaran berpidato di kelas IX Sekolah Bina Persada; (2) kemampuan berpidato siswa di kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol sebelum diberikan perlakuan; (3) penerapan model sinektik berbasis pemertahanan bahasa Indonesia di kelas eksperimen; (4) kemampuan berpidato siswa di kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol setelah diberikan perlakuan; dan (5) pengaruh penggunaan model sinektik berbasis pemertahanan bahasa Indonesia terhadap kemampuan berpidato. Secara metodologis, penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan tes. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa lembar observasi, pedoman wawancara, dan butir soal tes. Data yang diperoleh dari hasil tes dianalisis dan diolah menggunakan perangkat lunak SPSS. Data berdasarkan hasil observasi dan wawancara diolah dan dianalisis. Adapun pengolahan dan penganalisisan data merupakan upaya menata data secara sistematis. Berdasarkan uji ukuran efek (Effect Size Cohen’s) diperoleh nilai sebesar 1,5 atau setara dengan 92%. Hal ini menunjukkan penggunaan model sinektik berbasis pemertahanan bahasa Indonesia berpengaruh besar terhadap kemampuan berpidato. Kata kunci: model pembelajaran, model sinektik berbasis pemertahanan bahasa Indonesia, pembelajaran berpidato;--- This research was carried out due to the frequent use of foreign language during Indonesian lesson among the students in Sekolah Bina Persada, Cimahi. The students had difficulties in Indonesian teaching and learning process, especially during the speech lesson. They were not able to express their idea clearly because of the lack of Indonesian competence. The use of Indonesian in Sekolah Bina Persada is only allowed during Indonesian lesson which is taught for 180 minutes per week. This research was aimed at describing: 1) the speech lesson profile in class IX Sekolah Bina Persada; 2) the students’ speech ability in experimental and control class before being given treatment; 3) the application of sinektik model based Indonesian retention in experimental class; 4) the students’ speech ability in experimental and control class after being given treatment; and 5) the effect of using sinektik model based on Indonesian retention in speech lesson. This reseach was designed by using quantitative approach. A quasi-experimental was used as a conceptual framework for collecting the data. The data was collected through observation, interview, and test by using observation sheets, interview guidelines, and test items. The data obtained from the test result was analyzed and processed by using SPSS software. Meanwhile, the data gained from observation and interview was also analyzed and processed systematically. The value obtained based on the test of Effect Size Cohen’s was 1,5, equivalent to 92%. It means, the use of sinektik model based on Indonesian retention had a great effect on the students’ speech ability.
