Abstract

Kemampuan menyimak anak kelompok A5 TKK BPK PENABUR 246 Bandung masih rendah, hal ini terlihat dari masih banyak anak yang tidak memperhatikan guru ketika sedang berbicara, tidak memperhatikan media yang digunakan dan tidak dapat duduk dengan tertib sehingga anak-anak tidak dapat melakukan perintah guru dan tidak dapat menjawab pertanyaan guru. Tujuan penelitian untuk memperbaiki proses pembelajaran sehingga kemampuan menyimak anak meningkat. Kemampuan menyimak perlu ditingkatkan karena merupakan keterampilan dasar sebelum anak menguasai keterampilan berbicara, membaca, menulis dan merupakan langkah awal penguasaan informasi keilmuan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan design penelitian Kemmis & Taggart dan dengan pola kolaboratif. Tehnik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis data kualitatif dengan tehnik thematic analysis. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa terdapat peningkatan kemampuan menyimak anak setelah diterapkan metode Whole Brain Teaching. Kata Kunci: Pendidikan dasar, kemampuan menyimak anak usia dini, metode whole brain teaching The listening skills of class A5 TKK BPK PENABUR 246 Bandung were still weak. Based on pre-observation there were many children who couldn’t pay attention to their teacher when the teacher was speaking. They couldn’t pay attention to the resources that were being used and couldn’t sit properly so the children couldn’t follow the teacher’s instructions and couldn’t answer the teacher’s questions. Based on these points, the researcher did research in the class with the aim of repairing the learning process so that the children’s listening skills improved. Children’s listening skills should be improved because it is a basic skill to have speaking, reading and writing skills and as the first step to access a lot of information. The research method is the classroom action research by Kemmis & Taggart by collaboration pattern. Data collection technique is through observation, interview and documentation. The data analysis is by qualitative analysis and thematic analysis. The results of the research are the children’s listening skills improved through implementation of the Whole Brain Teaching method.
