Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelaah secara signifikan perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan Penalaran dan Pemecahan Masalah matematis antara siswa yang belajar dengan Model Pembelajaran Osborn dengan Teknik Brainstorming dan siswa yang belajar dengan pembelajaran konvensional dengan menggunakan desain kelompok kontrol non-ekuivalen. Kelompok eksperimen belajar dengan Model Pembelajaran Osborn dengan Teknik Brainstorming dan kelompok kontrol belajar dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMA Negeri 9 Jakarta dengan sampel dipilih dua kelas dari tujuh kelas. Instrumen berupa tes kemampuan Penalaran dan Pemecahan Masalah matematis serta angket skala sikap siswa. Analisis data dilakukan secara kuantitatif terhadap rataan gain ternormalisasi antara kedua kelompok dengan menggunakan Uji-t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan Penalaran matematis kelompok eksperimen tidak lebih baik secara signifikan dibandingkan kelompok kontrol, sedangkan untuk peningkatan kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah matematis kelompok eksperimen lebih baik secara signifikan dibandingkan kelompok kontrol. Sikap siswa pada penelitian ini masih belum sesuai dengan harapan. This study aimed to examine the differences significantly increase the ability of mathematical reasoning and problem solving among students who learn with Osborn Learning Model with Brainstorming Techniques and students who studied with the conventional instructional design using non-equivalent control group. The experimental group learned the Osborn Learning Model with brainstorming techniques and control group learning with conventional learning. The research was conducted in SMA Negeri 9 Jakarta with samples selected two classes of seventh grade. Instruments such as ability tests mathematical reasoning and problem solving as well as students' attitudes scale questionnaire. The data were analyzed quantitatively to the average normalized gain between the two groups using t-tests. The results showed that the increase in mathematical reasoning ability of the experimental group was not significantly better than the control group, while the increase in mathematical problem solving ability of the experimental group was significantly better than the control group. Attitudes of students in this study is still not in line with expectations.
