Abstract

Saluang Pauh merupakan salah satu alat musik tiup Minangkabau yang termasuk jenis wistle flute. Sebagai suatu produk kebudayaan yang syarat akan nilai-nilai kearifan lokal, kesenian Saluang Pauh tidak banyak diketahui oleh masyarakat Minangkabau. Kurangnya keahlian pendidik dalam mengaplikasikan kesenian tradisional dan keterbatasan berbagai literatur dari kesenian tradisional (khususnya Saluang Pauh) juga menjadi kendala bagi pendidik dalam mengaplikasikan praktek pembelajaran kesenian tardisional (Saluang Pauh) di sekolah. Penelitan ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (R & D) yang bertujuan untuk merancang konsep, membentuk dan mendeksripsikan karakteristik, serta menguji keefktifan dari bahan ajar Irama Pado-pado pada alat musik Saluang Pauh di SMKN 7 Padang. Berdasarkan temuan yang didapatkan, penulis telah membentuk bahan ajar Saluang Pauh yang difokuskan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman teori dan kemampuan praktek peserta didik SMKN 7 Padang dalam memainkan Irama Pado-pado. Bahan Ajar Ini di lengkapi dengan video untuk memudahkan peserta didik dalam mengapresiasi terhadap objek Saluang Pauh yang dipelajari. Berdasarkan hasil penerapan bahan ajar Saluang Pauh (Irama Pado-pado) ternyata dapat meningkatkan kepekaan peserta didik dalam mengidentifikasi karakter serta memainkan irama Pado-Pado dengan teknik penjarian dan teknik tiup yang benar. Selanjutnya peserta didik telah memahami beberapa hal kontekstual (Sejarah alat musik, Bentuk penyajian, Organologi, dll) dari instument Saluang Pauh. Berdasrkan temuan tersebut dapat diartikan bahwa bahan ajar yang dirancang oleh penulis telah teruji keefktifannya dalam proses pembelajaran di SMKN 7 Padang. Kata Kunci: Saluang Pauh, Irama Pado-pado, Bahan Ajar Saluang Pauh is one of the whistle musical instruments of Minangkabau; it is a type of whistle flute. As a cultural product containing the value of local wisdom, Saluang Pauh is still an unfamiliar art for the people of Minangkabau. Lack of educators’ ability to implement traditional art and literary limitations of traditional art (especially Saluang Paluh) are the problems for the educators to teach traditional art (Saluang Pauh ) in schools. This study is a developmental research (R&D) aiming at designing a concept, determining and describing characteristics, and testing the effectiveness of Irama Pado- pado lesson material for Saluang Pauh musical instrument in SMKN 7 Padang. Based on the result of the study, the researcher has made a lesson material of Saluang Pauh focusing on theoretical comprehension improvement in and practical skill of students of SMKN 7 Padang at playing Irama Pado- pado. This lesson material features videos in order to facilitate the students to appreciate the learned Salung Pauh. Based on the result of the implementation of Saluang Paluh lesson material (Irama Pado- pado), it shows that the lesson material can stimulate the students’ sensitivity to identify characters as well as to play Irama Pado- pado using fingering and whistling techniques correctly. Then, the students have understood some of the contextual aspects (the history of instrument, the presentation form, organology, etc) of the Salung Pauh instrument. The findings can be interpreted that the effectiveness of the lesson material in the learning process in SMKN 7 designed by the researcher has been qualified.
