Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas mengenai penggunaan model pembelajaran CALLA dalam pembelajaran Choukai pada mahasiswa tingkat II semester IV Jurusan Bahasa Jepang STBA JIA. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah adanya kesulitan yang dirasakan mahasiswa dalam memahami pembelajaran Choukai serta kurangnya kesadaran akan pentingnya penggunaan strategi pembelajaran yang dapat memaksimalkan proses dan hasil belajar mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti mengenai hasil penerapan model CALLA dalam pembelajaran Choukai. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian eksperimental murni dengan desain Randomized Posttest Only Control Group. Objek yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah 28 orang mahasiswa bahasa Jepang tingkat II yang di bagi ke dalam kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Dari hasil posttest terbukti bahwa nilai rata-rata kelas yang menggunakan model pembelajaran CALLA adalah 82,28, lebih baik dari kelas non CALLA yang memiliki nilai rata-rata 71,92. Hasil t hitung membuktikan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan menyimak siswa yang menggunakan model CALLA dengan mahasiswa yang tidak menggunakan model CALLA. Hal ini dapat diketahui dari nilai t hitung sebesar 2,560 yang lebih besar dari nilai t tabel sebesar 2,056 pada taraf signifikansi 5%. Berdasarkan data angket diketahui bahwa responden menyukai model pembelajaran ini karena dapat membantu dan memudahkan mereka dalam memahami topik wacana simakan. Selain itu model pembelajaran ini juga dapat meningkatkan motivasi dalam belajar bahasa Jepang. Kata kunci: strategi pembelajaran, kognitif, metakognitif, CALLA, Choukai. This paper discusses the use of CALLA model in learning Choukai at second grade 4th semester students majoring in Japanese Language Courses in STBA JIA. The background of this study is due to the difficulties experienced by students in understanding Choukai materials, and it is also due to the student’s lack of awareness about the importance of the use of learning strategies that can maximize their process and learning outcomes. The objective of this research is to examine the results of CALLA model application in learning Choukai. This research is using true experimental method with The Randomized Posttest Only Control Group design. The subjects of this study are 28 students that divided into 2 groups which it consists 14 students for each. The experimental group is treated by implementing CALLA model to improve listening comprehension, whereas the control group is treated without any particular ways during class. The results showed that the CALLA group has gained 82.28 point’s averages score, it is better than non-CALLA group that gained 71.92 point. The t-test result showed that there is a significant difference of students listening comprehension competence between CALLA group and non-CALLA group. It is proven by comparing the value of t-test and t-table. Since the t-test value is 2,560 and it is bigger than 2,056 at significance level of 5%, it can be concluded that Ho is accepted and H1 is rejected. The result of questionnaire showed that students liked to use CALLA model since it can help and facilitate them to comprehend the topic of listening text. Furthermore, it helps them improving their motivation in learning Japanese. Keywords: learning strategy, cognitive, meta-cognitive, CALLA, Choukai.
