Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian yang telah dilaksanakan di salah satu Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Negeri di Kota Bandung yaitu meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa menggunakan model pembelajaran experiential learning yang dikemukakan oleh Kolb melalui teorinya. 32 siswa Analis Kimia merupakan subyek dari penelitian yang bermetode pre-experimental dengan desain one group pretest-postest. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman konsep siswa mengalami peningkatan sebesar 0,67 berdasarkan perhitungan menggunakan nilai gain ternormalisasi dan dikategorikan peningkatan yang sedang. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran menggunakan experiential learning dapat meningkatakan pemahaman siswa SMK. Kata kunci: experiential learning, pemahaman konsep. This research aims to improve the students’ conceptual understanding after implementing experiential learning. The research method used was Pre-Experimental with one group pretest-postest design. The subject of the research was 32 tenth grade chemical analytic in one of vocational high school in Bandung City. The increasing of conceptual understanding obtained from normalization gain. The result shows that the values of the normalized gain for conceptual understanding is 0.67. The increasing of conceptual understanding had been medium categorized. Based on the result, it can be conluded that implementing experiential learning could improve students’ conceptual understanding. Keywords: experiential learning, conceptual understanding.
