Abstract

Pengembangan perkuliahan Fisiologi Hewan melalui strategi tutorial berbantuan komputer bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis (KBK), penguasaan konsep, dan sikap ilmiah mahasiswa calon guru biologi. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan Penelitian Pengembangan Borg dan Gall. Implementasi pembelajaran melibatkan 80 orang mahasiswa S1 calon guru biologi pada Program Studi Pendidikan Biologi suatu lembaga pendidikan negeri di Provinsi Sumatera Selatan. Uji implementasi menggunakan desain eksperimen non-equi-valent control group design, terdiri atas 41 mahasiswa kelompok eksperimen dan 39 mahasiswa kelompok kontrol.Instrumen untuk mengukur efektivitas strategi perkuliahan melalui tes KBK, tes penguasaan konsep, serta instrumen capaian sikap ilmiah. Untuk mengungkap pandangan mahasiswa mengenai pengalaman belajarnya, seperangkat angket disebarkan kepada mahasiswa kelompok eksperi-men.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan KBK, penguasaan konsep, dan sikap ilmiah mahasiswa pada kelompok eksperimen dibandingkan kontrol. Hal ini terbukti dari perolehan nilai N-Gain KBK yang mencerminkan level kompetensi pada kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan kontrol. Demikian pula pada penguasaan konsep nilai N-Gain dominan berada dalam kategori sedang bahkan ada yang mencapai kategori tinggi, sedangkan pada kontrol dominan pada kategori rendah dan tidak ada yang mencapai kategori tinggi. Sikap ilmiah mahasiswa pada kelompok eksperimen mengalami perkembangan dari kategori baik menjadi baik sekali, sedangkan pada kelompok kontrol tetap berada pada ka-tegori baik. Mahasiswa menanggapi positif implementasi strategi tutorial berban-tuan komputer dalam perkuliahan fisiologi hewan. Berdasarkan uji efektivitas, dapat disimpulkan penerapan strategi tutorial berbantuan komputer pada peneli-tian ini lebihefektif daripada pembelajaran konvensional dalammeningkatkanKBK, penguasaan konsep, dan sikap ilmiah mahasiswa calon guru biologi. ---------- The development of lecture using computer-aided tutorial strategy (CATS) aimed to promote critical thinking skills (CTS), concept mastery, and scientific attitude of prospective biology teacher has been conducted in Animal Physiology course. The study employed Research and Development design of Borg and Gall.The implementation of the strategy involved 80 undergraduate students of Biology educationat a state LPTK in South Sumatra Province. The test of implementation of CATSinvolving 41 students assigned to experimental group and 39 students assigned to control group. The instruments used to measure the efficacy of the lecture strategy were test of CTS and concept mastery as well as instru-ment of scientific attitude achievement. Questionnaire was also administered to uncover students’ perception towards their learning experience through CATS. Research findings revealed that there was enhancement of CTS, concept mastery and scientific attitude in experimental group. It was exhibited by N-Gain of CTS attained by experimental group that reflected higher level of competence com-pared with that of achieved by control group. Regarding the mastery N-Gain, most experimental group students were at average level and even a few of them was categorized into high level, whereas most of control group students were at low level and none of them belonged to high category.In terms of the scientific atti-tude development, the result of experimental group was categorized to be very good while control group result belonged to category of good. Students showed positive response towards the implementation of CATS. Based on effectiveness test, it can be concluded that the implementation of CATS proves to be more effective than conventional in enhancing CTS, concept mastery, and scientific attitude of prospective biology teacher.
