Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis masalah konseptual yang terdapat pada buku teks pelajaran Biologi. Masalah konseptual dapat menimbulkan konsep alternatif. Konsep alternatif merupakan ketidaktepatan mengenai pemahaman konsep tertentu. Masalah konseptual merupakan suatu permasalahan mengenai konsep yang harus diselesaikan. Penelitian ini dilakukan karena dilatarbelakangi oleh ditemukannya lima puluh lebih kesalahpahaman pada materi Plantae (Hersey, 2005). Masalah konseptual yang dianalisis adalah masalah konseptual yang terdiri dari misidentifications, overgeneralization, oversimplification, obsolete concepts and terms, dan under generalizations. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif. Sebanyak tiga buah buku teks pelajaran Biologi Kelas X Kurikulum 2013 yang paling banyak digunakan di SMA Negeri Kota Bandung. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui lembar analisis buku. Hasil penelitian menujukkan bahwa, didapatkan 24 masalah konseptual pada buku teks pelajaran yang terdiri dari 14 masalah konseptual misidentification, 9 masalah konseptual kategori overgenealization, dan 1 masalah konseptual kategori under generalization. Kata kunci: Buku Teks pelajaran, Masalah Konseptual, Materi Plantae The purpose of this study was to analyze the conceptual problem that contained in biology textbooks. The conceptual problems may lead to alternative concepts. Alternative concept is the inaccuracy of the understanding of specific concepts. The conceptual problem is a thing about concept that need to be solved. This research was conducted based on the discovery of more than fifty misunderstanding on the Plantae material (Hersey, 2005). Conceptual problems that being analyzed are conceptual problems which consist of misidentifications, overgeneralization, oversimplification, obsolete concepts and terms and under generalizations. The type of research that used in this study was a descriptive research. A total of three textbooks Biology Class X Curriculum 2013 that the most widely used at Senior High School in Bandung. Data collection conducted through the sheet analysis of book. The results showed that, obtained 24 conceptual problems in textbooks which consists of 14 conceptual problems in misidentification, 9 problems in overgeneralization conceptual categories, and 1 conceptual problem in undergeneralization category.
