Abstract
“Analisis Lagu No I dan VIII dalam Lieder Frauenliebe und Leben Op.42 Karya Robert Schumann” membahas tentang bentuk, struktur harmoni dan hubungan syair dengan musik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan karakter estetika musik Zaman Romantik. lieder ini berlandaskan pada pengetahuan tentang estetika musik Zaman Romantik yaitu individualitas gaya, warna nada yang ekspresif, kekayaan pada warna harmoni, pengembangan dinamika, tempo, ornamen, nada (pitch) serta bentuk yang miniatur dan monumental. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deksriptif analisis dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Berdasarkan temuan penelitian bahwa lagu No I memiliki bentuk strophic dan No VIII berbentuk through-composed yang diakhiri dengan postlude sebagai siklus. Struktur harmoni yang digunakan lebih kaya, yaitu pengembangan pada akor yang belum pernah terjadi pada zaman sebelumnya. Hubungan syair dengan musik pada lagu No I dan No VIII bahwa Schumann ingin mengekspresikan gagasannya tentang kehidupan wanita di Zaman Romantik melalui musiknya yang dikaitkan dengan makna syairnya. "Analysis of Robert Schumann’s work: Lieder und Leben Frauenliebe Op.42 No. I and VIII" discusses the form, harmony structure and relationship between poems and music. The purpose of this study is to describe the characteristic of music aesthetic in the Romantic period. This lieder is based on knowledge of the Romantic Period’s music aesthetics, those are individuality of style, expressive tone color, richness in color harmony, dynamic development, tempo, ornamentation, tone (pitch), also miniature and monumental forms. The method used is descriptive analysis with a qualitative approach. Based on the research, it found that song No. I has a strophic form and No VIII has through-composed form, which ended with a postlude as a cycle. The harmony structure used is richer, which is a development of chord that had never happened in the period before. The relationship between poem and music in the song No I and No VIII is that Schumann would like to express his ideas about women’s life in the Romantic Period through the music which is associated with the meaning of his poems.
