Abstract
Penelitian ini ialah mengenai analisis musik Medley The Phantom of the Opera karya Andrew Lloyd Webber aransemen Ed Lojeski. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan komposisi paduan suara Medley The Phantom of the Opera. Pokok permasalahan yang dikaji dalam penelitian ini berkaitan dengan bentuk komposisi (form), struktur melodi serta harmoni. Untuk menjawab rumusan masalah, peneliti berusaha menganalisis komposisi paduan suara Medley The Phantom of the Opera berdasarkan pengetahuan peneliti mengenai estetika musik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif analisis, yaitu memberikan gambaran secara sistematis mengenai fakta dan sifat-sifat tertentu dalam objek penelitian. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan, bentuk (form) komposisi Medley The Phantom of the Opera memiliki 13 bagian besar yang di dalamnya memiliki potongan-potongan tema, kalimat, serta motif. Strukur melodi dalam karya ini banyak berupa pengulangan, bentuk tanya jawab, arpeggio, dan pedalpoint. Struktur harmoni pada karya ini bervariasi, karena dalam karya ini terdapat tonalitas yang berbeda-beda pada setiap bagiannya. This research is about the music analysis of Medley The Phantom of the Opera Andrew Lloyd Webber's masterpiece arranged by Ed Lojeski. The purpose of this research was to describe the choir composition of Medley The Phantom of the Opera. Main issues examined in this research relates to the composition form, the structure of melody and harmony. To answer the formulation of the problem, researchers are trying to analyze the choir composition of Medley The Phantom of the Opera is based on the knowledge of researcher about the aesthetics of music. The method used is descriptive analysis, which provides a systematic description of the facts and certain properties in the object of research. Based on the results of research and discussion, the form composition Medley The Phantom of the Opera has 13 big part in it had pieces of theme, sentences, as well as the motive. Structure of the melody in this work a lot in the form of repetition, question and answer form, arpeggios, and pedalpoint. The structure of harmony in this work varies, as in this work are different key signature in every part.
