Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk : 1) Menganalisis kemampuan mahasiswa dalam menulis brève article ; 2) Menggambarkan kesulitan-kesulitan apa saja yang dihadapai mahasiswa dalam menulis brève article. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif, dan teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan berupa tes dan angket. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah karakteristik kemampuan menulis brève article mahasiswa Departemen Pendidikan Bahasa Perancis FPBS UPI, sedangkan sampel penelitiannya adalah mahasiswa semester VI kelas B berjumlah 20 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kemampuan mahasiswa dalam menulis brève article adalah baik, dengan nilai rata-rata 7.26, dan kesalahan yang sering dilakukan yaitu pada aspek kosa kata, penulisan artikel dan aspek penggunaan participe passé. Dalam penulisan brève article, Sebagian besar mahasiswa terkadang mempunyai kendala dalam hal segi bahasa (struktur, kosa kata, tanda baca), kurangnya ide untuk menulis, dan dalam hal bentuk kalimat (penggunaan bentuk waktu, gaya penulisan, penulisan kalimat). Untuk mengatasi kendala tersebut, mahasiswa bertanya kepada teman, bertanya kepada pengajar atau dosen, mencari sendiri dari buku-buku korespondensi berbahasa Perancis, serta mencari informasi di internet. Peneliti menyarankan agar mahasiswa lebih sering berlatih menulis dalam bahasa Perancis, mahasiswa juga disarankan untuk lebih memanfaatkan bahan ajar yang diberikan dosen dan lebih meningkatkan wawasan mengenai penulisan artikel surat kabar serta lebih rajin mengerjakan latihan-latihan yang diberikan oleh dosen. The research aims to : 1) analyze the ability of the sixth semester French students of UPI in writing ‹‹brève article›› ; 2) Describe any difficulties that faced by students in writing ‹‹brève article››. The method of this research is descriptive method with a quantitative approachment, and data collection technique uses the form of tests and questionnaires. The population in this research is the characteristics of the ability of the sixth semester French students of UPI in writing ‹‹brève article››, while the research sample is the sixth semester students of class B amounts to 20 people. The results show that the students' ability in writing ‹‹brève article›› is good, with the average is 7.26 and the common mistakes in writing ‹‹brève article›› are in the aspect of vocabulary, article writing and aspect of the use of participe passé. In writing a breve article, Most of the students sometimes have problems in terms of language (structure, vocabulary, punctuation), a lack of ideas for writing, and in sentence form (form of time using, the style of writing, sentences writing). To overcome these obstacles, the students ask a friend, ask the teacher or lecturer, find correspondence books in French language, as well as finding information on the internet. The researcher suggests the students to often do writing practice in French, students are also advised to utilize instructional materials which are provided by the lecturer and further improve insight about journalistic articles writing, and more diligently doing the exercises that given by the lecturer.
