Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di kelas IV SDN 2 Cibogo yang berjumlah 41 siswa dengan jumlah siswa laki-laki sebanyak 17 orang dan jumlah siswa perempuan sebanyak 24 orang. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah rendahnya kemampuan kognitif siswa pada materi pokok bilangan pecahan yang diakibatkan oleh metode mengajar guru, yaitu metode konvensional. Hal ini berdasarkan hasil data awal dan observasi yang dilakukan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana pelaksanaan mengenai pembelajaran Matematika dengan menerapkan model Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) serta untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan kognitif siswa pada materi pokok bilangan pecahan dengan menerapkan model Student Team Achievement Division (STAD). Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan Model Kemmis & Mc.Taggart melalui dua siklus. Untuk memperoleh data hasil penelitian, dibuat instrumen pembelajaran dan instrumen pengumpulan data. Data dianalisis dengan cara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu pelaksanaan pembelajaran selama penelitian secara umum telah berlangsung dengan baik, terdapat peningkatan kemampuan kognitif siswa pada materi pokok bilangan pecahan yang cukup signifikan selama penelitian berlangsung. Peningkatan kemampuan kognitif siswa pada materi pokok bilangan pecahan tersebut dibuktikan dengan persentase ketuntasan hasil belajar pada siklus I sebesar 63,41% dan siklus II sebesar 82,92%. Sedangkan berdasarkan analisis skor rata-rata kelas pada siklus I sebesar 70,00 dan siklus II 76,95. Diharapkan guru dapat menerapkan model Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) dengan pelaksanaan yang baik agar kemampuan kognitif siswa pada materi pokok bilangan pecahan dapat meningkat. This study is implemented in class IV students of SDN 2 Cibogo totaling 41 students with the amount of male students are 17 people and female students are 24 people. The background of this study is the low of students’ cognitive ability in subject matter of fractions which is caused by teachers’ teaching method, which is conventional method. It is based on pre-test result and observation that has been done. The aims of this study are to discover how learning Mathematics by applying Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) model is implemented and to find out the increasing of students’ cognitive ability in subject matter of fractions by applying Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) model. The methodology used in this study is Classroom Action Research by Kemmis and Mc. Taggart Model through two cycles. To gain study result data, learning instrument and data collection instrument have been made. The data were analyzed by using qualitative and quantitative ways. The result of the study is learning implementation during the study generally has been going well, and there is also significant increasing in students’ cognitive ability in subject matter of fractions during the study. The increasing in students’ cognitive ability in subject matter of fractions is proven by the percentage of study result completeness in cycle I in the amount of 63.41% and cycle II in the amount of 82.92%. Whereas, according to class average score analysis in cycle I in the amount of 70.00 and cycle II 76.95%. The teachers are expected to apply Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) model with well implementation so that students’ cognitive ability can increase.
