Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik di kelas XI Peminatan Ekonomi SMA Negeri 1 Cibingbin berdasarkan hasil tes pra-penelitian yang telah dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model cooperative learning teknik Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik dalam mata pelajaran ekonomi, khususnya pada materi Teori Permintaan dan Penawaran Uang, Indeks Harga, dan Inflasi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain nonequivalent control group design. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan berupa tes uraian. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan dengan uji parametrik yaitu uji paired sample test dan independent sample test dengan SPSS 26. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik kelas eksperimen antara sebelum dan setelah diberikan perlakuan model cooperative learning teknik STAD. Terdapat pula perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik antara kelas eksperimen yang diberikan perlakuan model cooperative learning teknik STAD dengan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan metode ceramah bervariasi, yakni kelas eksperimen memiliki kemampuan berpikir kritis yang lebih tinggi dibanding kelas kontrol. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa penerapan model cooperative learning teknik STAD memiliki pengaruh terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. This research was motivated by the low critical thinking ability of students in class XI of the Economics Specialization of SMA Negeri 1 Cibingbin based on the results of the pre-research test that had been carried out. This study aims to determine the effect of the application of the cooperative learning model with technique of Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) on students' critical thinking skills in economics subjects, especially in Chapter 5: Money Supply and Demand Theory, Price Index, and Inflation. The research method used is a quasi experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The research instrument used is in the form of a description test. Hypothesis testing was carried out by parametric tests, namely paired sample test and independent sample test with SPSS 26. The results showed that there was a difference in the improvement of critical thinking skills of experimental class students between before and after being given the treatment of the cooperative learning model of the STAD technique. There was also a difference in the improvement of students' critical thinking skills between the experimental class that was given the treatment of the cooperative learning model of the STAD technique and the control class that used a varied lecture method, namely the experimental class had higher critical thinking skills than the control class. This proves that the application of the cooperative learning model of the STAD technique has an influence on students' critical thinking skills.
