Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan gambaran Planned Happenstance Skill (PHS) peserta didik kelas XI SMA Negeri 14 Bandung tahun ajaran 2024/2025 dan mengembangkan program bimbingan karier berbasis profil PHS. PHS merupakan keterampilan individu dalam mengenali, menciptakan, dan memanfaatkan peristiwa tak terduga sebagai peluang karier, mencakup lima aspek: optimisme, fleksibilitas, kegigihan, keingintahuan, dan keberanian mengambil risiko. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain survei cross-sectional. Partisipan penelitian adalah 257 siswa kelas XI yang dipilih menggunakan teknik convenience sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan instrumen Planned Happenstance Career Inventory (PHCI), yang telah diadaptasi ke dalam bahasa Indonesia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara umum, PHS peserta didik berada pada kategori sedang dengan rata-rata skor 99,77. Sebanyak 15,6% peserta didik tergolong rendah, 68,9% sedang, dan 15,6% tinggi. Aspek kegigihan memiliki skor rata-rata tertinggi (21,37), sementara aspek fleksibilitas dan pengambilan risiko memiliki skor rata-rata terendah (18,75 dan 19,11). Berdasarkan temuan ini, dirancang program bimbingan karier berbasis PHS untuk meningkatkan kemampuan peserta didik, terutama pada aspek fleksibilitas dan pengambilan risiko. Program ini mencakup layanan dasar seperti bimbingan klasikal dengan topik-topik seperti adaptasi terhadap perubahan, keberanian mengambil risiko, dan eksplorasi peluang karier. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa PHS peserta didik perlu ditingkatkan untuk menghadapi ketidakpastian dan perubahan dunia kerja, terutama di era Revolusi Industri 4.0. Program bimbingan karier yang dirancang dapat menjadi alternatif bagi Guru Bimbingan dan Konseling untuk membantu peserta didik mengembangkan keterampilan yang relevan dengan tantangan dunia kerja masa depan. This study aims to describe the Planned Happenstance Skill (PHS) of class XI students of SMA Negeri 14 Bandung in the 2024/2025 school year and develop a career guidance program based on the PHS profile. PHS is an individual skill in recognizing, creating, and utilizing unexpected events as career opportunities, including five aspects: optimism, flexibility, persistence, curiosity, and risk-taking courage. This study used a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional survey design. The research participants were 257 grade XI students who were selected using convenience sampling technique. Data were collected using the Planned Happenstance Career Inventory (PHCI) instrument, which has been adapted into Indonesian. The results showed that in general, students' PHS was in the medium category with an average score of 99.77. A total of 15.6% of learners were classified as low, 68.9% as moderate, and 15.6% as high. The persistence aspect has the highest mean score (21.37), while the flexibility and risk-taking aspects have the lowest mean scores (18.75 and 19.11). Based on these findings, a PHS-based career guidance program was designed to improve learners' abilities, especially in the aspects of flexibility and risk-taking. The program includes basic services such as classical guidance with topics such as adaptation to change, risk-taking, and exploration of career opportunities. This research concludes that learners' PHS needs to be improved to deal with the uncertainty and changes in the world of work, especially in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0. The designed career guidance program can be an alternative for Guidance and Counseling Teachers to help learners develop skills relevant to the challenges of the future world of work.
