Abstract
Secara sosial dan budaya, keberadaan mitos masih sangat berhubungan erat dengan kehidupan masyarakat Indonesia sehari-hari. Berbagai mitos yang ada tersebut dapat dijadikan sebagai sumber inspirasi bagi para penulis Indonesia, seperti yang ditunjukkan pada novel Bumi karya Tere Liye yang menyajikan mitos dalam konteks masa kini. Teks mengenai elemen real dan magis yang dinarasikan dalam novel tersebut menunjukkan adanya ciri-ciri realisme magis yang merupakan suatu aliran sastra baru dalam kesusastraan indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan analisis teks struktural dan mengungkapkan realisme magis dalam novel Bumi berdasarkan teori karakteristik realisme magis Wendy B. Faris. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa teknik baca, simak, catat (BSC) dan studi pustaka, serta teknik analisis data dilakukan menggunakan pisau analisis struktural milik Todorov dan analisis karakteristik realisme magis milik Wendy B. Faris. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan 1) novel Bumi memiliki struktur yang lengkap dan padu berupa unsur intrinsik yang saling berkaitan dalam membangun cerita pada novel Bumi, 2) novel Bumi mengandung unsur yang tidak dapat direduksi, dunia yang fenomenal, keraguan yang meresahkan antara magis dan real, penggabungan alam, serta gangguan waktu, ruang dan identitas berupa tokoh, peristiwa dan objek dalam novel Bumi serta 3) relasi antarelemen menunjukkan bahwa tokoh, peristiwa, dan objek saling berkaitan satu sama lain menciptakan rantai realisme magis. Socially and culturally, the existence of myths is still closely related to the daily lives of Indonesian people. The various myths that exist can be used as a source of inspiration for Indonesian writers, as shown in the novel Bumi by Tere Liye which presents myths in a contemporary context. The text about real and magical elements narrated in the novel shows the characteristics of magical realism which is a new literary movement in Indonesian literature. This study aims to describe the structural text analysis and reveal magical realism in the novel Bumi based on Wendy B. Faris' theory of magical realism characteristics. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques in the form of reading, listening, taking notes (BSC) and literature studies, and data analysis techniques are carried out using Todorov's structural analysis knife and Wendy B. Faris's analysis of the characteristics of magical realism. The results of the study show 1) The Bumi novel has a complete and cohesive structure in the form of intrinsic elements that are interrelated in building the story in the Bumi novel, 2) the Bumi novel contains elements that cannot be reduced, a phenomenal world, disturbing doubts between the magical and the real, the merging of nature, and disturbances of time, space and identity in the form of characters, events and objects in the Bumi novel and 3) the relationship between elements shows that characters, events and objects are interrelated with each other creating a chain of magical realism.
