Abstract
ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi dengan rendahnya minat baca anak di Indonesia, hal ini disebabkan tidak adanya peranan orang tua dalam mengarahkan, karena itu peneliti memilih judul pembiasaan orang tua dalam membacakan buku cerita untuk menumbuhkan minat baca anak 4-6 tahun. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana pembiasaan yang dilakukan orang tua dalam membacakan buku cerita untuk menumbuhkan minat baca anak. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode penelitian studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dengan wawancara kepada tiga orang tua anak usia dini yang melakukan pembiasaan membacakan buku cerita. Kemudian hasil penelitian ini dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik grounded theory. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) Membacakan buku cerita sejak dini memengaruhi perkembangan anak (2) Membacakan buku cerita efektif pada malam hari sebelum tidur, (3) Lingkungan berpengaruh pada minat baca anak (4) Buku cerita harus berkualitas, (5) Pola asuh orang tua yang pasif menjadi faktor penyebab rendahnya minat baca anak. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan kepada orang tua bahwa orang tua harus memberikan contoh yang baik kepada anak dalam setiap tindakkan. Penelitian dilakukan kepada orang tua anak usia dini yang berapa di Kecamatan Nagrak, Kabupaten Sukabumi yang telah melakukan pembiasaan membacakan buku cerita pada anak. Kata kunci: pembiasaan orang tua, buku cerita, minat baca ABSTRACT This research is motivated by the low interest in reading among children in Indonesia, this is due to the absence of a role for parents in directing them, therefore the researcher chose the title Parental Habituation in Reading Storybooks to Foster Children's Interest in Reading. The aim of this research is to find out how parents practice reading story books to foster children's interest in reading. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study research method. The data collection technique used was interviews with three parents of young children who were getting into the habit of reading story books. Then the results of this research were analyzed using grounded theory techniques. The results of the research show that (1) Reading story books from an early age influences children's growth and development (2) Reading story books is effective at night before going to bed, (3) The environment influences children's interest in reading (4) Story books must be of high quality, (5) Pattern Passive parenting is a factor causing children's low interest in reading. This research recommends to parents that parents must provide a good example to their children in every action. The research was conducted on parents of young children in Nagrak District, Sukabumi Regency who had made the habit of reading story books to their children.
