Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya pemahaman konsep matematis peserta didik pada pembelajaran operasi hitung bilangan cacah perkalian dan pembagian. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui peningkatan pemahaman konsep matematis peserta didik yang memperoleh pembelajaran menggunakan model problem-based learning berbantuan media puzzle perkalian dan pembagian, serta untuk mengetahui perbedaan peningkatan pemahaman konsep matematis antara peserta didik laki-laki dengan peserta didik perempuan setelah memperoleh pembelajaran dengan model problem-based learning berbatuan media puzzle perkalian dan pembagian. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan menggunakan nonequivalent control group design. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas IV Sekolah Dasar di Kecamatan Cisarua, Kabupaten Bandung Barat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran problem-based learning dengan bantuan media puzzle perkalian dan pembagian pada pemahaman matematis peserta didik meteri bilangan cacah hal ini dibuktikan dengan perolehan rata-rata data n-gain kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,71, yang masuk kedalam kategori tinggi. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan peningkatan pemahaman konsep matematis peserta didik kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan perolehan hasil uji-t dua sampel dengan nilai signifikansi (2-tailed) sebesar 0,00 yang artinya terdapat perbedaan antara peningkatan pemahaman konsep matematis peserta didik kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan peningkatan pemahaman konsep matematis yang signifikan pada kelas eksperimen antara peserta didik laki-laki dan perempuan yang di mana dibuktikan dengan perolehan hasil uji t dua sampel dengan nilai signifikansi (2-tailed) sebesar 0,97. Kata kunci: media puzzle, operasi bilangan cacah, pemahaman matematis, problem-based learning, peserta didik sekolah dasar. ------------- This research was motivated by the low ability of students to understand mathematical concepts when learning operations to calculate whole numbers, multiplication and division. The aim of this research is to determine the increase in the ability to understand mathematical concepts of students who receive learning using the problem-based learning model assisted by multiplication and division puzzle media, as well as to determine the difference in the increase in understanding of mathematical concepts between male students and female students after receiving the learning. with a problem-based learning model based on multiplication and division puzzle media. The research method used in this research is quasi-experimental using nonequivalent control group design. The sample used in this research was grade IV elementary school students in Cisarua District, West Bandung Regency. The results of the research show that there is an influence of the application of the problem-based learning model with the help of multiplication and division puzzle media on increasing the mathematical understanding of whole number students, this is proven by the average n-gain data obtained for the experimental class of 0.71, which is included in the high category. Research also shows that there is a difference in the increase in understanding of mathematical concepts in experimental class and control class students. This is proven by the results of a two-sample t-test with a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.00, which means there is a difference between the increase in the ability to understand mathematical concepts of experimental class and control class students. The research results also show that there is no significant difference in increasing understanding of mathematical concepts in the experimental class between male and female students, which is proven by the results of a two-sample t test with a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.97.
