Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya hasil belajar kognitif siswa pada pembelajaran IPA. Hasil belajar kognitif dapat dilihat melalui tingkat keberhasilan siswa dalam memahami materi pelajaran yang disampaikan. Berdasarkan hasil observasi kelas V di SDN Karyamukti, hasil belajar kognitif siswa dalam pembelajaran IPA terbilang rendah, bahkan kurang dari KKM yaitu 70. Berdasarkan masalah, maka tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menerapkan model pembelajaran problem based learning berbantuan media diorama untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif siswa dalam pembelajaran IPA. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas dengan desain penelitian Kemmis dan MC Taggart, melalui 2 siklus yang terdiri dari perencanaan, tindakan, observasi dan refleksi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SDN Karyamukti pada kelas V dengan subjek penelitian 26 siswa, terdiri dari 11 siswa laki-laki dan 15 siswa perempuan. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan yaitu lembar observasi dan tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pada hasil belajar kognitif IPA siswa setelah menerapkan model pembelajaran problem based learning berbantuan media diorama. Hal ini ditunjukkan pada hasil belajar kognitif IPA siswa pada data awal sebelum menerapkan model pembelajaran problem based learning mencapai rata-rata 60,77 dengan ketuntasan belajar klasikal 19%. Pada siklus I rata-rata nilai kelas sebesar 74,69 dengan persentase ketuntasan mencapai 65%, dan meningkat pada siklus II nilai rata-rata kelas menjadi 82,80 dengan persentase ketuntasan siswa mencapai 92%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran problem based learning berbantuan media diorama dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas V pada pembelajaran IPA. ----- This research is motivated by the low cognitive learning outcomes of students in science learning. Cognitive learning outcomes can be seen through the success rate of students in understanding the material presented. Based on the observation results of the fifth-grade class at SDN Karyamukti, the cognitive learning outcomes of students in science learning are considered low, even less than the Minimum Competency Criteria (KKM) of 70. Based on this problem, the aim of this research is to apply the problem-based learning model assisted by diorama media to improve students' cognitive learning outcomes in science learning. This research was conducted using the classroom action research method with the Kemmis and McTaggart research design, through 2 cycles consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. This research was conducted at SDN Karyamukti in the fifth-grade class with 26 students as the research subjects, consisting of 11 male students and 15 female students. The research instruments used were observation sheets and tests. The research results show an increase in students' cognitive learning outcomes in science after applying the problem-based learning model assisted by diorama media. This is indicated by the students' cognitive learning outcomes in science from the initial data before applying the problem-based learning model, reaching an average of 60.77 with a classical learning mastery of 19%. In the first cycle, the class average score was 74.69 with a mastery percentage of 65%, and it increased in the second cycle with a class average score of 82.80 and a student mastery percentage of 92%. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the application of the problem-based learning model assisted by diorama media can improve the cognitive learning outcomes of fifth-grade students in science learning.
