Abstract

ABSTRAK Penguasaan konsep merupakan salah satu keterampilan yang sangat dibutuhkan dalam pembelajaran matematika. Melalui sebuah pemahaman konsep maka seseorang dapat menerapkan materi matematika yang didapat ke dalam kehidupan nyata. Akan tetapi berdasarkan hasil prariset ditemukan bahwa lebih dari 50% siswa kelas V di salah satu Sekolah Dasar di Kabupaten Sumedang belum memahami konsep materi persen. Oleh karena itu dibutuhkan pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Pembelajaran Open Ended dan Direct Istruction diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran Open Ended dan Direct Instruction terhadap perolehan dan peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian eksperimen dengan dua desain yaitu one group pretest-posttest design dan pretest-posttest control group design. Dari hasil analisis data terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan kedua pembelajaran terhadap perolehan dan peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Pengaruh pembelajaran dengan Direct Instruction lebih besar daripada pembelajaran Open Ended dalam perolehan serta peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. mathematics. However, based on pre-research results, it was found that more than 50% of class V students in one of the elementary schools in Sumedang Regency did not understand the concept of percent material. Therefore, learning is needed that can improve students' ability to understand mathematical concepts. Open Ended and Direct Instruction learning is expected to improve students' understanding of mathematical concepts. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of Open Ended and Direct Instruction learning on the acquisition and improvement of students' ability to understand mathematical concepts. This research uses an experimental research method with two designs, namely one group pretest-posttest design and pretest-posttest control group design. From the results of data analysis, there is a significant influence of both learning on the acquisition and improvement of students' ability to understand mathematical concepts. The effect of learning with Direct Instruction is greater than Open Ended learning in the acquisition and improvement of students' ability to understand mathematical concepts.
