Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan atas dasar latar belakang masalah yang ditemukan pada siswa kelas X IPA 1 SMA Kartika XIX-2 Bandung. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara dengan guru Bahasa Indonesia kendala yang dialami oleh siswa dalam pembelajaran menulis teks eksposisi di antara lain adalah siswa kesulitan dalam menyampaikan ide ke dalam bentuk tulisan, siswa merasa kesulitan dalam menuliskan argumen yang informatif dan argumen tersebut bersifat terbatas, serta siswa kurang memperhatikan kaidah penulisan yang baik dan benar. Upaya yang dilakukan oleh peneliti dalam mencoba mengatasi kendala tersebut adalah melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Project Citizen dalam pembelajaran menulis teks eksposisi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan pendekatan secara kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X IPA 1 SMA Kartika XIX-2 Bandung. Data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dari hasil wawancara, angket siswa, dan observasi aktivitas guru dan siswa. Prosedur yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini adalah perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, dan refleksi. Berdasarkan hasil dari tindakan yang dilakukan sebanyak dua siklus diketahui sebanyak 32.14% siswa mendapat nilai A dan 39.28% siswa mendapat nilai B. Keterampilan menulis siswa dinilai sudah menunjukkan tanda peningkatan dan rata-rata hasil belajar siswa yang mencapai kategori tuntas. Berdasarkan hasil analisis angket siswa dan wawancara dengan guru menyatakan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Project Citizen pada pembelajaran menulis teks eksposisi mampu meningkatkan keterampilan menulis teks eksposisi. This research was conducted on the basis of the background problems found in class X IPA 1 SMA Kartika XIX-2 Bandung. Based on the results of interviews with Indonesian teachers, the obstacles experienced by students in learning to write exposition texts include students having difficulty conveying ideas in written form, students find it difficult to write informative arguments and these arguments are limited in nature, and students pay little attention to the rules good and correct writing. Efforts made by researchers in trying to overcome these obstacles are through the application of the Project Citizen learning model in learning to write exposition texts. The research method used is Classroom Action Research with a qualitative approach. The subjects in this study were students of class X IPA 1 SMA Kartika XIX-2 Bandung. The data in this study were obtained from interviews, student questionnaires, and observations of teacher and student activities. The procedures carried out in this study were planning, implementing actions, and reflecting. Based on the results of the actions taken in two cycles, it was found that 32.14% of students got an A and 39.28% of students got a B. Students' writing skills were assessed to have shown signs of improvement and the average student learning outcomes reached the complete category. Based on the results of student questionnaire analysis and interviews with teachers stated that the application of the Project Citizen learning model in learning to write exposition texts was able to improve the skills of writing exposition texts Keywords: Exposition text, Project Citizen Learning Model, Classroom Action Research.
