Abstract

Manajemen pendidikan karakter merupakan suatu keharusan untuk mencapai visi sekolah dalam menciptakan siswa yang berkarakter. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pendidikan karakter, implementasi pendidikan karakter, dan hasil pendidikan karakter pada masa pandemi COVID-19 di SMP BPK PENABUR Holis. Pada dasarnya permasalahan penelitian ini adalah bagaimana pengelolaan pendidikan karakter di SMP BPK PENABUR Holis meliputi: perencanaan, pengorganisasian, pelaksanaan, dan pengendalian atau pengawasan pendidikan karakter. Metodologi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Lokasi penelitian di SMP BPK PENABUR Holis yang berlokasi di Kompleks Taman Holis Indah Blok A. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan karakter sangat dibutuhkan baik di sekolah maupun di rumah, mengintegrasikan pendidikan karakter dengan pembelajaran jarak jauh, hasil pendidikan karakter dapat dilihat dari keinginan siswa untuk membantu orang tuanya bekerja di rumah selama masa pandemi COVID- 19 pandemi. Ada tanggapan yang positif dari orang tua terhadap pendidikan karakter yang diberikan pihak sekolah meskipun siswa masih mengikuti pembelajaran daring, namun pada beberapa kasus peneliti menemukan bahwa sebagian siswa mengikuti program pendidikan karakter hanya untuk memperoleh nilai sosial dan spiritual saja. Kolaborasi antara sekolah dan orang tua menjadi kunci keberhasilan program pendidikan karakter ini. Sehingga, di tengah pandemi COVID-19 yang mengharuskan siswa belajar dari rumah, pendidikan karakter bisa tetap berjalan. Management of character education is a must to achieve school’s vision creating students with good character. This research aimed to describe character education, implementation of character education, and the results of character education during the COVID-19 pandemic in SMP BPK PENABUR Holis. Basically, the problem of this research is how the management of character education at SMP BPK PENABUR Holis includes: planning, organizing, implementing, and controlling or supervising character education. The methodology used in this research is qualitative with descriptive approach. The research location was SMP BPK PENABUR Holis which is located in the Taman Holis Indah Blok A The results of the analysis show that character education is needed both at school and home, integrating character education with home-based learning, the results of character education can be seen from the willingness of students to help their parent’s works at home during the COVID-19 pandemic. There is a positive response from parents regarding character education provided by school even though the students still attend online learning, but in somecase researcher found that some students follow the character education programme only for social and spiritual marks. The collaboration between school and parents is the key to the success of this programme of character education. So, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, which requires students to learn from home, character education can continue.
