Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh penggunaan WhatsApp sebagai sarana pembelajaran IPS daring kelas VIII B di SMP Negeri 2 Cipunagara. Pemanfaatan aplikasi WhatsApp sebagai sarana pembelajaran ini dilakukan dalam rangka memenuhi kebutuhan pembelajaran daring peserta didik pada kelas VIII B di SMP Negeri 2 Cipunagara. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan mengenai pemanfaatan WhatsApp sebagai sarana pembelajaran IPS daring pada kelas VIII B di SMPN 2 Cipunagara. Penelitian ini merupakan studi deskriptif kualitatif pada kelas VIII B di SMP Negeri 2 Cipunagara. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui kegiatan wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil temuan peneliti menunjukkan bahwa WhatsApp dapat dijadikan sebagai sarana pembelajaran IPS daring karena memiliki banyak keunggulan dibandingkan dengan aplikasi lainnya. Setiap kendala yang dihadapi pun mampu diselesaikan dengan berbagai solusi. Pemanfaatan WhatsApp sebagai sarana pembelajaran IPS daring mendapat tanggapan yang baik dari peserta didik. Kata kunci: WhatsApp, sarana belajar, pembelajaran daring, pembelajaran ips, pembelajaran IPS daring ABSTRACT This research was motivated by the use of WhatsApp as an online social studies learning means for class VIII B at SMP Negeri 2 Cipunagara. The use of the WhatsApp application as a learning means is carried out in order to fill up the online learning needs of students in class VIII B at SMP Negeri 2 Cipunagara. The purpose of this study is to describe the use of WhatsApp as a means of online social studies learning in class VIII B at SMPN 2 Cipunagara. This research is a qualitative descriptive study in class VIII B at SMP Negeri 2 Cipunagara. The techniques for collecting data were carried out through interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The research findings show that WhatsApp can be used as an online social studies learning means because it has many advantages compared to other applications. Every obstacle encountered can be solved with various solutions. The use of WhatsApp as an online social studies learning means has many good responses from students.
