Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh perkembangan Abad 21 yang mengharuskan siswa memperkuat nilai-nilai karakter yang dimilikinya. Penanaman nilai-nilai karakter dilakukan melalui pendidikan. Pendidikan di Indonesia menggunakan Kurikulum 2013 yang erat kaitannya dengan pendidikan karakter. Kurikulum 2013 juga memiliki cirikhas yaitu memiliki buku teks tematik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis muatan lima nilai-nilai utama karakter dalam buku tematik siswa SD Kelas 1 semester 1, memverifikasi persebaran lima nilai utama karakter pada setiap pembelajaran, dan mengklarifikasi apakah terdapat keseimbangan dari setiap nilai utama karakter pada buku tema. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu penelitian kualitatif dengan metode analisis konten. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini yaitu Buku Tematik Siswa SD Kelas 1 Semester 1. Teknik Pengumpulan data menggunakan studi literatur, dan analisis konten. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa 1) Buku tematik siswa SD Kelas 1 Semester 1 memuat lima nilai utama karakter yaitu religius, nasionalis, mandiri, gotong-royong, dan integritas dengan didalamnya terdapat 31 sub nilai karakter. 2) Muatan nilai utama karakter tersebar pada setiap tema pembelajaran. 3) Belum seimbangnya setiap muatan nilai utama karakter pada buku tema, karena terdapat satu nilai utama karakter nasionalis yang termuat lebih sedikit dibandingkan dengan nilai utama karakter lainnya. ----- The background of this research is the development of the 21st Century which requires students to strengthen the stored character values. The inculcation of character values is done through education. Education in Indonesia uses the 2013 Curriculum which is closely related to character education. The 2013 curriculum also has the characteristic of having thematic textbooks. This study aims to analyze the flow of the main character values in the thematic books for 1st semester elementary school students, verify the distribution of the five main character values in each lesson, and clarify whether there is a balance of each main character value in the theme book. The research approach used in this study is qualitative research with content analysis methods. The source of data in this study is the Thematic Book of Elementary School Class 1 Semester 1. Data collection techniques using literature studies, and content analysis. The results of the study stated that 1) The thematic book for elementary school students in Class 1 Semester 1 contains five main character values, namely religious, nationalist, independent, mutual cooperation, and integrity with 31 sub character values in it. 2) The content of the main character values is spread over each learning theme. 3) The unbalanced content of each main character value in the theme book, because there is one main value of the national character which is less than the main value of the other characters.
