Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi perlunya dilakukan pembaharuan dalam peningkatan kreativitas mengajar guru dalam pengelolaan proses pembelajaran pengetahuan sosial disekolah dasar sebagai respon semakin melemahnya kualitas belajar siswa. Hal yang menjadi hambatan selama ini dalam pembelajara pengetahuan sosial adalah disebabkan kurang dikemasnya pembelajaran pengetahuan sosial dengan metode yang menarik, menantang dan menyenangkan. Para guru sering kali menyampaikan materi pengetahuan sosial apa adanya, sehingga pembelajaran IPS cenderung membosankan dan kurang menarik minat para siswa yang pada gilirannya prestasi belajar siswa kurang memuaskan, sehingga memerlukan upaya untuk memenuhi tuntutan kurikulum tingkat satuan pendidikan (KTSP). Keadaan tersebut cenderung menimbulkan kejenuhan, kebosanan, sehingga dapat menimbulkan motivasi belajar siswa yang dapat berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Berdasarkan uraian permasalahan di atas, melalui penelitian ini diharapkan guru mampu berperan sebagai inovator dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas. Pengembangan program didasarkan pada data-data dan informasi dari siswa, guru dan setting sosial kelas secara alamiah melalui dua tahapan siklus penelitian tindakan kelas. Untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dalam pelajaran IPS dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan pembelajaran CTL. Penelitian ini dilakukan di kelas IV SDN Cimahi II Kab. Purwakarta dengan dua siklus. Dari pelaksanaan post tes siklus kesatu dengan penggunaan pendekatan pembelajaran CTL telah memberikan peningkatan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS pada pokok bahasan “Koperasi dan Kesejahteraan Masyarakat”. Hal tersebut dapat terlihat dari peningkatan rata-rata nilai kelas yang baik yaitu rata-rata nilai siklus I adalah 59,40, rata-rata nilai siklus II adalah 73,47. Selain itu, dapat menimbulkan motivasi siswa untuk belajar dan mempraktekan pembelajaran dilingkungan, sehingga inti pembelajaran CTL dapat tercapai yaitu pembelajaran yang mengaitkan antara materi pelajaran dengan kondisi kehidupan nyata yang membuat pembelajaran menjadi lebih bermakna.

Background research is need to reform the improvement creativity of teachers to teach in the management in learning the social knowledge process in primary schools as a response to the weakening of the quality of student learning. For all this time , the obstacles in social knowledge learning is caused by the method of learning is an old fashioned, less of challenging and fun. The teachers were not improvised for delivered the social knowledge, so the learning of the social knowledge was too monotonous and not really attractive for the student, and as the result the student were not satisfy for their final values. So it takes an effort to fulfill the level of the education curricula (SBC). That situation is tend to make overfullness and boring so it can raise the motivation of student that can be helpful for their result. Based on the problems description above, through this research teachers can be expected to act as innovators in learning. This study uses action research methods class. Development program is based on data and information from students, teachers and social environment class setting through two stages of the class action cycle. To improve student learning outcomes in social studies carried out by using CTL learning approach. This research was conducted in the fourth grade II SDN Cimahi Kab. Purwakarta with two cycles. From the implementation of post test cycle with the use of learning approaches unity CTL has provided the improvement of student learning outcomes in social studies on the subject of "Cooperation and Welfare". This can be seen from the increase of the average value that have a good grade average value was 59.40 for the 1st cycle, and 73.47 for the second cycle. Also, it can lead students' motivation to learn and practice the learning environment, so that the core of learning the CTL can be achieved, it is learning that links between the subject matter with real-life conditions that make learning more meaningful.
