    Abstract

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika melalui pendekatan kontekstual model Kooperatif tipe Team Assissted Individualization (TAI). Penelitian ini dilakukan terhadap siswa kelas VII sebanyak dua kelas dengan pengambilan sampel secara sampling penempatan. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitiannya adalah desain kelompok kontrol non-ekivalen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa mengalami peningkatan dengan rata-rata indeks gain mencapai 0,36 atau termasuk kategori sedang. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes kemampuan berpikir kritis dan non-tes, yaitu: lembar observasi, jurnal harian, dan angket. Kesimpulan mengenai hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yang pembelajaran matematikanya melalui pendekatan kontekstual model kooperatif tipe Team Assissted Individualization (TAI) tidak berbeda dengan siswa yang pembelajaran matematikanya melalui pendekatan kontekstual saja dan sikap siswa terhadap pendekatan kontekstual model kooperatif tipe Team Assissted Individualization (TAI) adalah positif.

    ABSTRACT

    IMPROVEMENT OF CRITICAL THINGKING IN MATHEMATICS CLASS BY IMPLEMENTATION OF CONTEXTUAL APPROACH IN MUTUAL WITH COOPERATIVE LEARNING MODEL OF TEAM ASSISSTED INDIVIDUALIZATION (TAI)

    The aim of this research was to obtain inprovement of critical thingking in mathematics class by implementation of contextual approach in mutual with cooperative learning model team assissted individualization. This research was implemented at junior high school grade VII of two classes that took purposive sampling. The research method used quasi-experiment with non-equivalent group control designs. The result showed that student’s abilitiy of critical thingking improved with 0,36 the average of gain index or belong to middle category. Instrument used was ability of critical thingking test and non-test namely: observation, daily journal, and questionnaire. The conclustions of research showed that improvement of student’s critical thingking in mathematics class by implementation of contextual approach in mutual with cooperative learning model team assissted individualization was low difference with student’s critical thingking in mathematics class by implementation of contextual approach only and student’s attitudes was positives.
