Abstract

Rendahnya kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa menjadi hambatan bagi siswa dalam memahamai informasi pada teks bacaan. Hal ini dibuktikan pada hasil tes kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa dan wawancara guru kelas IV SD. Tujuan penelitian ini dilakukan untuk membantu siswa dalam memahami bacaan melalui pengembangkan strategi High five dan teknik membaca SQ4R dalam pembelajaran membaca pemahaman. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian R&D dengan model penelitian Dick, Carey, dan Carey tahun 2009. Pada profil awal pembelajaran menunjukkan bahwa siswa hanya membaca buku pada waktu tertentu dan hanya beberapa siswa saja yang meminjam buku di perpustakaan. Ditemukan pula siswa belum menyukai tugas membaca dan mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami bacaan, sedangkan pada hasil wawancara guru ditemukan pembelajaran di kelas belum berinovasi dalam memadukan strategi pembelajaran dan teknik membaca, sehingga pembelajaran di kelas belum maksimal. Selanjutnya pada hasil angket guru dalam menilai kesesuaian antara desain pembelajaran dengan komponen judul dan tujuan pembelajaran menunjukkan bahwa, hampir semua responden setuju atas desain pembelajaran yang telah disusun dan satu responden lainnya memberi masukan mengenai pewarnaan pada media untuk lebih bervariasi dan menambahkan gambar-gambar agar lebih menarik saat dikerjakan oleh siswa. Strategi High five dan teknik membaca SQ4R merupakan pembelajaran yang disusun untuk mencapai tujuan pembelajaran dalam pembelajaran membaca pemahaman. Aktivitas yang aktif beserta kerja sama dan bimbingan dari guru akan memudahkan siswa dalam memahami informasi pada teks bacaan. Penelitian ini akan berimplikasi pada peneliti selanjutnya dalam mengembangkan strategi High five dan teknik membaca SQ4R khususnya dalam pembelajaran membaca pemahaman. The low reading comprehension ability of students becomes an obstacle for students in understanding the information in the reading text. This is evidenced by the results of the students' reading comprehension test results and the teacher interviews in grade 4 elementary education. The purpose of this study was to assist students in understanding reading through developing the High five strategy and the SQ4R reading technique in learning reading comprehension. The research method used is the R&D research method with the Dick, Carey, and Carey research models in 2009. The initial profile of the lesson shows that students only read books at a certain time and only a few students borrow books from the library. It was also found that students did not like reading assignments and had difficulty understanding reading. Meanwhile, the results of teacher interviews found that learning in the classroom had not innovated in integrating learning strategies and reading techniques so that learning in the classroom was not optimal. Furthermore, the results of the teacher's questionnaire in assessing the suitability of the learning design with the components of the title and learning objectives showed that almost all respondents agreed with the learning design that had been compiled and one other respondent gave input about coloring on the media to be more varied and added pictures to make it more interesting when done by students. The High five strategy and the SQ4R reading technique are lessons designed to achieve learning objectives in reading comprehension learning. Active activities along with cooperation and guidance from the teacher will make it easier for students to understand the information in the reading text. This research will have implications for future researchers in developing the High five strategy and SQ4R reading techniques, especially in reading comprehension learning.
