Abstract
Kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis dan disposisi matematis dalam pembelajaran matematika sangat penting untuk dimiliki dan ditingkatkan. Kemampuan berpikir kritis dapat membantu siswa mengambil keputusan yang benar, sedangkan disposisi matematis diperlukan siswa untuk menyelesaikan suatu permasalahan matematika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis dan disposisi matematis yang dimiliki siswa serta menganalisis ada atau tidaknya perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa SMP berdasarkan pengkategorian (rendah, sedang, tinggi) disposisi matematis. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif komparatif. Sampel dalam penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas VIII di SMP Negeri Kota Tangerang sebanyak 96 siswa dengan menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis dan disposisi matematis siswa berada pada kategori cukup baik; (2) terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa berdasarkan pengkategorian disposisi matematis siswa secara keseluruhan; dan (3) kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa berdasarkan pengkategorian untuk setiap dimensi disposisi matematis hanya pada dimensi kepercayaan diri, keingintahuan, dan fleksibilitas yang memiliki perbedaan, sedangkan pada dimensi ketekunan dan refleksi tidak berbeda secara signifikan. Mathematical critical thinking and mathematical disposition skills in learning mathematics are very important to be possessed and improved by students. Critical thinking could help students to make the right decisions, while mathematical disposition is needed to solve mathematical problems. This study is aimed to describe students’ mathematical critical thinking and mathematical disposition ability and to analyze whether there are differences in junior high school students’ mathematical critical thinking ability based on mathematical disposition category (low, medium, high). This study employs quantitative approach with comparative descriptive method. The samples are 96 eight grade students in SMP Negeri Kota Tangerang which were chosen using simple random sampling technique. The findings showed that: (1) the students’ mathematical critical thinking and mathematical disposition ability is in the quite good category; (2) there are differences in the students’ mathematical critical thinking ability based on mathematical disposition category in general; and (3) the students’ mathematical critical thinking ability based on categorization for each mathematical disposition dimension were only different on the dimensions of confidence, curiosity, and flexibility, while there were no significant differences on the dimensions of perseverance and reflection.
