Abstract

Kegiatan story reading penting untuk menjadi kegiatan rutin sehari-hari agar anak terbiasa dengan buku dan memiliki minat baca sejak dini, dengan menumbuhkan minat baca sejak dini, ketika dewasa nanti anak akan menjadi pribadi yang suka membaca buku. Penelitian ini memiliki latar belakang bahwa permasalah yang seringkali terjadi adalah sulitnya mengajak anak untuk kegiatan membaca buku, karena anak lebih tertarik bermain dengan mainannya. Sehingga penulis melakukan penelitian tentang story reading sebagai stimulasi minat baca anak usia dini. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh gambaran terkait story reading sebagai stimulasi minat baca anak usia dini di TK Al-Mukhtariyah, serta gambaran terkait minat baca anak usia dini di TK Al-Mukhtariyah. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif, data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil dari pembahasan ini didapatkan bahwa kegiatan story reading dapat menumbuhkan minat baca anak usia dini jika dilakukan dengan baik, serta anak yang mamiliki minat baca terlihat dari respon anak ketika diajak membaca buku akan terlihat senang, memperhatikan dan mendengarkan guru ketika sedang membacakan buku cerita, dan akan bermain dengan buku seperti membuka-buka halaman buku dan bercerita sesuai dengan gambar pada buku cerita. ----- The story reading activity is crucial to be a daily life routine so that children get used to books and develop reading interest as early as possible. By developing early reading interest in children, they are expected to be individuals who fond of reading. This study background was the difficulty of getting children to read books since they were more interested in playing toys. The author then conducted a study regarding story reading as the reading interest stimulation in early childhood. This study aimed to obtain an illustration of story reading as the reading interest stimulation in early-age children of Kindergarten Al-Mukhtariyah. The study was qualitative descriptive, and data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The study results show that storytelling may develop reading interests in early-age children if it was well-executed. Children had reading interests, seen from their responses when reading books to appear happy, paying attention, and listening to teachers during storytelling activity. They also played with books, such as opening book pages and telling stories according to the books' images.
