Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kasus tindak kekerasan di kalangan anak-anak Sekolah Dasar, yang disebabkan belum tertanamnya nilai-nilai karakter dalam diri anak. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk menganalisis nilai karakter yang terintegrasi dalam tujuan pembelajaran IPS pada buku pegangan guru, teks bacaan materi IPS pada buku pegangan siswa, dan kesesuaian nilai-nilai karakter pada buku ajar Kurikulum 2013 pegangan guru dan pegangan siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian analisis konten. Sumber data yaitu buku ajar Kurikulum 2013 pegangan guru dan pegangan siswa kelas V Sekolah Dasar yang terdiri dari sembilan tema. Unit analisis nilai-nilai karakter pada buku pegangan guru adalah tujuan pembelajaran IPS dan buku pegangan siswa adalah teks bacaan materi IPS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan buku pegangan guru dan buku pegangan siswa belum mengembangkan semua nilai karakter, dan memiliki banyak ketidaksesuaian nilai karakter. Kata kunci: buku ajar, IPS, sekolah dasar ------ This research is motivated by cases of violence among elementary school children, which are caused by the absence of character values in the children. The purpose of this study was to analyze the integrated character values in the social studies learning objectives in the teacher’s handbook, the social studies material reading text in student handbook, and the suitability of character values in the 2013 Curriculum textbook for teacher’s handbooks and student handbook. This research is a content analysis research. Sources of data are the 2013 Curriculum textbooks of teacher’s handbook dan fifth grade elementary school students which consists of nine themes. The unit of analysis of character values in the teacher’s handbook is the social studies learning objective and the student handbook is the reading text of social studies material. The results showed that the teacher’s handbook and student’s handbook had not developed all character values, and had many mismatches of character values.
