Abstract
ANALISIS KESULITAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP IPA MATERI GAYA DAN GERAK KELAS IV SEKOLAH DASAR Oleh Siti Aisah NIM 1605915 ABSTRAK Latar belakang penelitian kualitatif ini yaitu kurangnya pemahaman konsep IPA kelas IV SDN Pancabakti. Tujuan penelitian yang dilakukan yaitu untuk menganalisis kesulitan pemahaman konsep IPA materi gaya dan gerak, serta faktor yang menyebabkannya. Metode penelitian kualitatif yang digunakan peneliti yaitu studi kasus. Sebagai subjeknya peneliti mengambil enam orang peserta didik kelas IV. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada pertengahan bulan Juni 2020. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini yaitu peneliti sendiri, adapun pengumpulan datanya menggunakan tes, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu model Miles dan Huberman. Berdasarkan jawaban peserta didik pada soal tes pemahaman konsep IPA, serta wawancara mendalam kepada subjek peneliti terpilih, guru, dan orang tua didapatkan hasil pemahaman konsep IPA kelas IV SDN Pancabakti dalam kategori rendah. Adapun kesulitan yang dialami peserta didik kelas IV yaitu kesulitan memahami maksud soal, mendefinisikan suatu konsep menggunakan bahasa sendiri, mengklasifikasikan aktivitas dalam suatu konsep, serta menjelaskan macam-macam gaya beserta contohnya. Selain itu, faktor-faktor yang menjadi penyebab kesulitan pemahaman konsep IPA yang dialami peserta didik kelas IV yaitu faktor internal dan ekternal. Kata Kunci: Kesulitan, Pemahaman konsep IPA, Sekolah Dasar ANALYSIS OF DIFFICULTIES OF UNDERSTANDING SCIENCE CONCEPT ABOUT FORCE AND MOTION LAW FOR 4TH GRAGE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL By Siti Aisah NIM 1605915 The background of this qualitative reseach is a lack of understanding of concept IPA grade IV SDN Pancabakti. The purpose of this reseach is ti analyze the difficulty of understanding the science concept of force and motion, and the fctors that cause it. The qualitative reseach method used by researchers is a case study. As the subject, the researchers took six class IV students. The reseach was conducted in mide-June 2020. The instrument in this study was the researcher himself, while the data collection used tests, interviews, ang documentation. The data analysis used in this study is Miles and Huberman model. Based on the student’s answer to the questions on the science concept understanding test, ass well as-in-depth interviews wite selected research subjects, teachers, and parents, the results of the fourth grage understanding science concepts at SDN Pancabakti were in the low category. The difficulties experiences grade IV students werw difficulties in understanding the meaning of the question defining a concept using their own language, classifying activities in a concept, and explaning the various styles and their examples. In addition, the factors that cause difficulties in understanding the concept of science experienced by grade IV students are internal and external factors.
