Abstract

ANALISIS KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIS SISWA KELAS V SEKOLAH DASAR Lamya Program Studi PGSD UPI Kampus Purwakarta Jln. Veteran No. 08 Purwakarta Email: lamyaaa1998@gmail.com ABSTRAK Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis harus dipelajari oleh siswa, karena sangat bermanfaat dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui: (1) kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa kelas V SD; (2) kesulitan-kesulitan yang dialami siswa kelas V SD saat menyelesaikan soal pemecahan masalah matematis; (3) penyebab kesulitan siswa kelas V SD saat menyelesaikan soal pemecahan masalah matematis; (4) solusi untuk mengatasi kesulitan siswa kelas V SD dalam menyelesaikan soal pemecahan masalah matematis. Penelitian ini merupakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, dengan metode studi kasus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis kategori cukup dengan skor 50, kategori kurang dengan skor 28 dan 34, dan kategori sangat kurang dengan skor 06; (2) kesulitan-kesulitan yang dialami siswa saat menyelesaikan soal tes diantaranya tidak dapat memahami soal-soal yang diberikan dengan baik, tidak dapat merencanakan strategi untuk dapat menyelesaikan masalah, tidak dapat menghitung penyelesaian masalah dengan benar dan tepat, serta tidak dapat menyusun kesimpulan dari hasil yang diperoleh; (3) penyebab kesulitan siswa saat mengerjakan soal tes diantaranya diakarenakan kemampuan membaca pemahaman yang kurang, mengerjakan soal dengan terburu-buru dan sudah panik duluan sehingga tidak fokus untuk mencari strategi dalam menyelesaikan masalah. Kurang cermat dalam menggunakan informasi yang telah diketahui, kurang teliti dalam mengerjakan soal, serta kurangnya latihan soal; (4) solusi untuk mengatasi kesulitan-kesulitan tersebut salah satunya dengan cara siswa harus sering latihan soal-soal pemecahan masalah, karena kemampuan pemecahan masalah melibatkan ingatan, pemahaman, penerapan, analisis, dan evaluasi untuk menyelesaikannya. The research objectives are to know (1) the mathematical problem-solving ability in V grade elementary school; (2) the difficulties of V grade elementary school students when solving the mathematical problem-solving question; (3) the cause of difficulties V grade elementary school students in completing mathematical problem-solving; (4) the solution to overcome the difficulties of V grade elementary school students in finishing mathematical problem-solving; This research is a case study and uses the descriptive qualitative method. The research results are: (1) the sufficient score category of mathematical problem-solving ability is 50, fewer categories are 28 and 34, and the lowest satisfactory is 06; (2) the students' difficulties when finishing test are, they couldn't understand the questions well, incapable planning the strategy to be able to solve problem, unable counting the problem-solving correctly and properly, and incompetent making summary from results obtained; (3) the cause of students' difficulties in doing the test, its caused of less reading comprehension skill, doing test hurriedly and early panic, as the result they couldn't focus to seek problem-solving strategy. They are careless use information even though they have known it, careless doing tests and less exercising. One of the solutions to solve difficulties is exercising, students must do problem-solving exercise often, because it involves memory, understanding, practicing, analysis, and evaluation to finish it.
