Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya keterampilan pemahaman konsep siswa yang rendah dan dapat dilihat dari hasil observasi pemahaman konsep siswa di kelas IV SDN Sarimulya belum maksimal. Banyak siswa yang kesulitan mengerjakan soal-soal dalam mengkasifikasi, menafsirkan, memberi contoh, merangkum suatu informasi, dan bahkan dalam menjelaskan kembali mengenai materi yang sudah dipelajari. Hal tersebut terjadi dikarenakan ketidakaktifan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran. Siswa hanya mendengarkan penjelasan dari guru yang mengakibatkan siswa kesulitan dalam memahami materi yang sedang dipelajari sehingga berdampak pada hasil belajar dan tidak tercapainya tujuan pembelajaran. Model pembelajaran yang digunakan yaitu model pembelajaran Problem Based learing, yang melibatkan siswa secara aktif dalam pemecahan masalah selama proses pembelajaran bersama kelompok. Dalam model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning, siswa diperkenalkan pada konsep melalui masalah yang terjadi di dunia nyata. Dengan pembelajaran yang seperti ini memungkinkan siswa untuk menemukan konsep yang dapat digunakan untuk memecahkan masalah dengan berbagai penjelasan yang dapat menyelesaikan masalah tersebut. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) melalui dua siklus dengan tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi dengan subjek yaitu kelas IV di SDN Sarimulya yang berjumlah 30 siswa. Hasil penelitian dengan menggunakan model ini terlihat adanya peningkatan aktivitas siswa pada siklus I mencapai 72,40% meningkat pada siklus II mencapai 85,20%. Sedangkan nilai rata-rata pada kondisi awal 57%, meningkat pada siklus I mencapai 75,33%, dan meningkat lagi pada siklus II mencapai 86%. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep pada tema Indahnya Keragaman di Negeriku. This research is backed by the skills of understanding the concept of students who are low and can be seen from the observation of the understanding of the concept of students in class IV SDN Sarimulya not yet maximized. Many students have difficulty working on the questions in the information, interpreting, sampling, summarizing, and even re-explaining the material they have learned. This is due to the inactivity of students in the learning process. Students only listen for explanations from teachers that cause students to struggle to understand the material being studied and to impact learning outcomes and not achieving learning objectives. The learning model used is the model of Problem Based learing, which engages students actively in solving problems during the learning process with the group. In the Problem Based Learning model, students are introduced to the concept through problems happening in the real world. With such learning it allows students to discover concepts that can be used to solve problems with various explanations that can solve the problem. The type of research used is class action research (PTK) through two cycles with the planning, implementation, observation and reflection of the subject of class IV at SDN Sarimulya numbering 30 students. The results of the study using this model have seen an increase in student activity that cycle I reached 72.40% increase in cycle II reached 85.20%. While the average value at an initial condition of 57%, increased in cycle I reaches 75.33%, and increases again in cycle II reaches 86%. It can be concluded that the Problem Based Learning learning model can improve the concept of understanding the beautiful friend of diversity in my country.
