Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh siswa kelas V yang belum mampu memahami bacaan dan rendahnya hasil belajar siswa. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui kemampuan membaca pemahaman, faktor penyebab kesulitan membaca pemahaman, dan solusi yang dapat diterapkan untuk mengatasi kesulitan membaca pemahaman pada siswa kelas V SD Negeri Citra Kecamatan Binong Kabupaten Subang. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu kualitatif dengan subjek penelitian 3 orang siswa kelas V SD. Data diperoleh dengan observasi, wawancara, tes, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa siswa kelas V SD Negeri Citra kurang mampu mengartikan kata yang ada di dalam teks, kemampuan menjawab pertanyaan sesuai dengan bacaan tergolong cukup, kemampuan menentukan ide pokok tergolong dalam kategori kurang, dan kemampuan menceritakan kembali menggunakan bahasa sendiri secara tertulis kurang karena siswa hanya mampu menuliskan kembali kalimat yang ada di dalam teks. Faktor penyebab kesulitan membaca pemahaman pada siswa kelas V SD Negeri Citra yaitu kurangnya minat dan motivasi membaca siswa pada saat di rumah, orang tua kurang memperhatikan dan tidak memberikan fasilitas belajar kepada anaknya selama berada di rumah, sekolah kurang menyediakan buku bacaan dan media pembelajaran. Solusi yang dapat diterapkan yaitu siswa dibiasakan untuk membeli buku sendiri, mengadakan kuis di perpustakaan sekolah, dan guru dapat menerapkan metode, strategi, serta model pembelajaran yang tepat bagi siswa. This research is motivated by 5th grade students who have not been able to understand the reading and lack of study result. The purpose of this research is to know the ability of reading comprehension, the factors causing difficulty reading comprehension, and the applicable solustion to difficulties reading comprehension in elementary school at Binong Subang District. The approach that used in this research is qualitative on the 3 subjects 5th grade students elementary school. Data obtained through observation, interview, test, and documentation. Research indicates that students by 5th elementary school less capable of interpreting words in text, the ability to answer question should be sufficient, the ability to determine the basic idea in the less category, and the ability to retell in using your own language in writing is lacking because students in are only able to rewrite the phrase that is in the text. The underlying factor of difficulty reading comprehension in elementary school is lack of interest and motivation for reading a student at home, the parents pay little attention and leave their children learning facility at home, the school provides little reading material and learning media. An applicable solution is the students habit of buying their own books, quiz at school library, and teachers to adopt appropriate methods, strategies, and learning models for students.
