Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa berdasarkan hasil wawancara dengan wali kelas IV di salah satu SDN Kecamatan Cimahi Utara, Kota Cimahi. Dalam penelitian ini terdapat 5 orang subjek yang merupakan siswa kelas 4 Sekolah Dasar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa dalam tema 7 sub tema 3 kelas 4 Sekolah Dasar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi kasus. Hasil penelitian pemahaman konsep terhadap lima orang subjek pada mata pelajaran IPS diperoleh melalui soal tes yang diberikan kepada lima orang subjek dan memperoleh persentase pemahaman paling rendah 42,86% dengan kategori pemahaman kurang (D) dan paling tinggi 71,42% dengan kategori pemahaman cukup (C). Hasil penelitian pemahaman konsep pelajaran PPKn diperoleh persentase pemahaman paling rendah 19,04% dengan kategori pemahaman buruk (E) dan paling tinggi 90,47% dengan kategori pemahaman sangat baik (A). Sedangkan tahap wawancara dilaksanakan untuk mengetahui faktor yang mempengaruhi pemahaman konsep dari lima orang siswa. Faktor yang mempengaruhi pemahaman konsep ke-lima subjek tersebut sebagian besar berasal dari minat belajar yang kurang, dorongan orangtua dan lingkungan sekitar. This research is motivated by the low ability student to understanding concept, based on the result of intervies with class IV teacher in one of the SDN sub-district Nort Cimahi, Cimahi. In this research there where 5 subjects who were 4th grade students in elementary school. This research method used is case study. The low of ability student to understanding concept of social studies subject and civcs education subject in theme 7 subtheme 3 grade 4 elementary school judging by the result of the understanding concept test. This result of concept understanding to five students on social study subject obtained from question test who given to five subject and the lowest understanding precentage 42,86% are obtained, with less knowledging category (D) in the highest percentage is 71,41% with fair knowledging category (C). The result of concept understanding to five students on the lesson of civics education subject there is the lowes percentage of understanding 19,04% with bad understanding categories (E) and the highest percentage 90,47% with the very good understanding categories (A). interviews were conducted to find out the factors that influenced the understanding concepts of the five students. These influencing factors of understanding concepts is mostly comes from student interest in learning it also comes from parents and the environment.
