Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh banyaknya anak usia dini yang telah mengenal gadget, namun dalam penggunaannya tidak didampingi oleh orang tua, sehingga berpotensi menimbulkan dampak negatif pada anak. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peran orang tua dalam penggunaan gadget pada anak di Desa Pemali, Kepulauan Bangka Belitung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode studi kasus. Proses pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik wawancara dan studi dokumentasi dengan narasumber sejumlah tiga orang tua. Analisis data menggunakan analisis data tematik.Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa peran orang tua dalam penggunaan gadgetantara lain mencarikan video-video yang bermanfaat untuk anak, meng-install youtube kids sebagai media yang aman untuk anak, konten-konten negatif yang tidak sesuai dengan usia anak, menggunakan kode/sidik jari sehinggagadget tidak dapat sembarangan diakses oleh anak, memberi batasan waktu anak menggunakan gadget, mengatur jarak anak saat menggunakan gadget agar mata anak tidak terlalu dekat dengan gadget, dan mengatur posisi duduk anak agar anak tetap pada posisi benar sehingga mengurangi resiko anak memiliki postur tubuh yang salah. Dalam melakukan perannya orang tua dihadapkan dengan berbagai macam kendala/hambatan yaitu kesibukan orang tua karena bekerja sehingga kurang meluangkan waktu untuk mendampingi anak saat menggunakan gadget. This research is motivated by the situation in the field, where a lot of early childhood use the gadget. Children free to access the gadget without the role of the parents. The purpose of this study is to determine the role of parents in the use of gadgets in children in Pemali village, Kep. Bangka Belitung. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study research design. Data collection techniques using, interviews and documentation studies. With speakers from three people older. By using thematic data analysis. The results of this study indicate that the role of parents, in the use of gadgets in which this role is carried out in various ways such as parents find videos that are useful for children. Parents install YouTube Kids as a safe media for children. And block negative content that is not appropriate for the age of the child. In addition, parents also use codes/fingerprints so that gadgets are not haphazardly accessed by children. Another else to do is the parents give the time limit to access the gadget. Parents also regulate the distance of the child while using the gadget, so that the child is not too close to the gadget. Parents also adjust the child's seat position to keep the child in the correct position. In the role of parents are certainly faced with various kinds of obstacles/obstacles. The biggest obstacle of the three respondents is the busyness of parents working so as to spend less time to accompany the child while using the gadget.
