Abstract
Lembaga pendidikan formal menuntut siswa untuk memahami berbagai macam teori dan praktik dalam berbagai bidang ilmu. Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (IPA) sebagai bidang studi yang dipelajari di sekolah menjadi salah satu landasan penting dalam pembangunan bangsa, mengingat tantangan abad 21 yang ditandai dengan pesatnya perkembangan teknologi dan ilmu pengetahuan ini menjadikan pembelajaran harus diberikan semaksimal mungkin kepada para siswa. Berdasarkan hasil studi pendahuluan di SMP Pertiwi Bandung, pemahaman siswa terhadap mata pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam cenderung sulit untuk ditingkatkan, atau dengan kata lain hasil belajar siswa cenderung sama dan tidak begitu meningkat. Berangkat dari permasalahan tersebut, dilaksanakanlah suatu penelitian mengenai penggunaan model pembelajaran Advance Organizer berbantu media video untuk mengatasi permasalahan pemahaman siswa diatas. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kuantitatif, dengan metode kuasi eksperimen desain time series. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan tes uraian (esay). Berdasarkan hasil tabulasi data pretest dan posttest diperoleh gain sebesar 2,9 pada aspek translasi, 2,02 pada aspek interpretasi, dan 2,32 pada aspek ekstrapolasi. Berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis penelitian umum menggunakan uji one sample t-test, secara umum dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran Advance Organizer dengan berbantu media video pencemaran lingkungan terhadap peningkatan pemahaman siswa pada mata pelajaran IPA.; Formal education institutions require students to understand various kinds of theories and practices in various fields of science. Natural Sciences (IPA) as a field of study studied in schools is one of the important foundations in nation building, given the challenges of the 21st century, marked by the rapid development of technology and science, that learning must be given to students as much as possible. Based on the results of a preliminary study at Pertiwi Bandung Middle School, students' understanding of Natural Sciences subjects tends to be difficult to improve , or in other words student learning outcomes tend to be the same and not so increased . Departing from these problems, carried out a study on the use of Advance Organizer learning models assisted by video media to overcome the problems of understanding students above. The research approach used in this study is a quantitative approach, with a quasi-experimental time series design method . Data collection techniques are carried out using essay tests. Based on the results of the tabulation of pretest and posttest data obtained a gain of 2.9 on the translation aspect, 2.02 on the aspect of interpretation, and 2.32 on the extrapolation aspect. Based on the results of the general research hypothesis test using the one sample t-test , in general it can be concluded that there is an influence of the use of the Advanced Organizer learning model with the help of environmental pollution video media to increase students' understanding of science subjects .
