Abstract
The researcher use the descriptive qualitative method which means researchers will directly examine the data in the form of utterance in film“Le Grand Voyage” by Ismaël Ferroukhi and it works by describing problems, telling, classifying and collecting data. The film Le Grand Voyage was a French-Maroco film directed by Ismaël Ferroukhi and was released in France in 2004. The stages of data analysis are choosing the utterances into the data card that were obtained and classifying data based on Searle’s theory (1969, 1977 & 1979), then review and classify data according to the context of the utterance based on Hymnes’s theory (197) that was called by SPEAKING (Setting, Participant, End, Act, Key, Instrument, Norm, Genre) and finally it was conclude by making conclusions. There are three speech acts on film, which are locutions speech acts, illocutions and perlocutions. From all the utterances that was analyzed, the use of illocutionary speech act was more dominant that the other two speech acts. With this research, it is expected that student have more knowledge about the pragmatics, especially about the speech acts.
