Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan membaca pemahaman pada siswa. Fokus pada penelitian ini adalah penerapan strategi SQ3R untuk meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman pada siswa kelas IV sekolah dasar. Tujuan umum dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana penerapan strategi SQ3R dilaksanakan dalam rangka meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman pada siswa dan peningkatan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa setelah diterapkannya strategi SQ3R pada proses pembelajaran. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan mengadopsi dari model Kemmis dan Taggart. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan sebanyak dua siklus dengan subjek penelitian yang berjumlah 24 siswa. Pengumpulan data diperoleh melalui tes, observasi, catatan lapangan, dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil tes, analisis hasil observasi, dan catatan lapangan dari setiap siklus menunjukkan perkembangan positif terhadap pembelajaran dengan menerapkan strategi SQ3R. Dari hasil rata-rata nilai diperoleh pada siklus I sebesar 73,04 dan meningkat pada siklus II sebesar 80,79. Sedangkan peningkatan ketuntasan belajar pada siklus I sebesar 58% dan meningkat pada siklus II yaitu sebesar 87%. Berdasarkan hasil peningkatan tersebut, penerapan strategi SQ3R pada pembelajaran khususnya pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia dapat meningkatkan keterampila membaca pemahaman pada siswa kelas IV sekolah dasar.;---The background in this research is low comprehension reading skill in fourth grade students of primary school. Focus on this research especially on application SQ3R strategy to improve reading comprehension skills in fourth grade students of primary school. This study aims to find out how the planning, implementation, and improvement of reading comprehension skills in students by applying the SQ3R strategy. The research used Classroom Action Research (PTK) method by adopting from Kemmis and Taggart model which implemented in 2 cycles. The subjects in this research are the fourth grade students in one of Primary School in Bandung, 2017/2018 academic year, amounting to 24 students consisting of 12 men and 12 women. The research was conducted based on SQ3R strategy stages: survey, question, read, recite, review. There are indicators of reading comprehension in this research is to determine the main idea, write the question, summarize the contents of the text, and retell the contents of the text with their own language. The results of research data showed improvement by applying SQ3R strategy on learning process. The average value of the results obtained in cycle I 73.04 and increased in cycle II of 80.79. While the improvement of learning completeness in cycle I are 58% and increased in cycle II that is equal to 87%. Based on the results of the improvement, the implementation of SQ3R strategy in learning process, can improve reading comprehension skill in fourth grade students of primary school.
