Abstract
Penelitian ini berjudul “Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe SQ4R (Survey, Question, Read, Reflect, Recite, Review) Untuk Meningkatkan Keterampilan Membaca Pemahaman Siswa Kelas III Sekolah Dasar” dan bertujuan untu (1) mendeskripsikan perencanaan pembelajaran dengan menerapkan model SQ4R (Survey, Question, Read, Reflect, Recite, Review), (2) mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model SQ4R (Survey, Question, Read, Reflect, Recite, Review), dan (3) mendeskripsikan peningkatan keterampilan membaca pemahaman setelah diterapkan model SQ4R (Survey, Question, Read, Reflect, Recite, Review). Penelitian ini didasari oleh rendahnya keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa yang ditemukan oleh peneliti ketika melakukan observasi dan wawancara dengan wali kelas yang bersangkutan, selain itu pembelajaran yang masih bersifat konvensional melalui ceramah dan penugasan serta tidak adanya perencanaan pembelajaran yang maksimal untuk setiap pembelajaran. Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM) untuk mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia adalah 70.00. Berdasarkan siklus I, nilai siswa masih banyak yang di bawah KKM dan nilai rata-rata siswa pada siklus I sebesar 76 sementara ketuntasan belajar menunjukkan sekitar 60.7%. Sementara pada siklus II nilai rata-rata siswa meningkat menjadi 86.8 dan ketuntasan belajar meningkat menjadi 89.3%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa model SQ4R mampu meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas III Sekolah Dasar.;---This research titled “The Application of Cooperative Learning Model Type SQ4R (Survey, Question, Read, Reflect, Recite, Review) For Increasing the Ability of Reading Comprehension For 3rd Grade Elementary School Students”. This research aims to describe: (1) planning of learning by using cooperative learning model type SQ4R in the 3rd grade elementary school students, (2) the process of learning by using cooperative learning model type SQ4R in the 3rd grade elementary school students, and (3) enhancement the ability of reading comprehension after using cooperative learning model type SQ4R for the 3rd grade elementary school students. This research background is the lack of the reading comprehension at the 3rd grade elementary school students, besides learning still done conventionally through lectures and assignments and the lack of planning of learning for each learning. The minimum criteria of mastery learning is 70.00 but due the observation we found that many students still get under 70.00. At cycle I, the average value of reading comprehension is 76 and the mastery learning achieve 60.7%. Meanwhile at cycle II the average value of reading comprehension increase to 86.8 and the mastery learning increase to 89.3%. Based on the result, it can be concluded that the cooperative learning model type SQ4R can improve the ability of reading comprehension of 3rd grade elementary school students.
